Need help with rear tire sizing - 275/35/18 vs. 285/30/18
2011 335i sedan
BBS RIA wheels, 18x8.5 ET34 front, 18x9.5 ET40 rear BMWPS yellow springs (1/2" lower than sport suspension height), Koni yellows fenders rolled, camber plates w/ -2.0 camber all around I had Bridgestone RE11 in 255/35/18 front and 275/35/18 rear, loved them and had no rubbing at all. Replaced them with RE71R same sizes but had rubbing against fender liner front>rear going over hard dips or bumps (no rubbing on turns), even after trimming front fender liners. The RE71Rs were too loud for my DD, and RE11s are no longer available. I am thinking of going with Star Specs, gonna stick with the same size in front and hope they don't rub. For the rear I could go with same size as before or 285/30/18. Diameter is less than the 275/35 but obviously wider. How do I know which size rears would be less likely to rub? My indy shop says my suspension is too soft and there is no way to tell if either size will rub other than to try them. Thanks, Robert |
