London to Nurburgring (via Prague)
Well, finally got round to posting some pics of my car on the 'Ring. Fab weekend just gone, but exhausting!
Left London at midnight Thursday night, drove straight to Prague arriving Friday afternoon, then left for the 'Ring on Saturday afternoon. Arrived back in London on Tuesday! Madness... 1935 miles in four days, with an average speed for the whole journey (including the 'Ring) of 69.1mph !!! 'Ring was fairly busy on Sunday, but almost empty on Monday evening which is when the photos were taken. Saw some fab cars there too - Enzo, Gemballa Carrera GT, original Ford GT40... My tyres are now well and truly scrubbed in, thanks to my brother who tried his very best, and succeeded, in chasing and catching up with a very quick E46 M3... I think the M3 driver was a little confused and surprised Have to say the E92 was a revelation, with the uprated rollbars keeping things on an even keel and the standard SE suspension doing their bit to smooth away the bumps and ferocity of the Karousel. Even the ultra-fast left-hander compression dip at Fuchsrohre didn't faze the suspension. And the LSD is just something else - the drive out of corners was strong and constant, with huge levels of grip. So much so that my brother is going to organise a Quaife for his Alpina So all round, a fab weekend away. Back to the 'Ring in September. Oh, and the latest upgrade to my car was pretty good too, but I'll say more when I write the review... Incidentally, big thanks to Jochen@Frozenspeed.com for the pictures - he's the 'Ring's pro photographer and very good he is too... Anyone wanting photos when they go, let me know and I'll put you in touch

If only that were Sabine - she'd probably manage a 10 second lap (although to be fair, that cab didn't even hit 40mph on the straight!) It's a guy who's there almost every public weekend - his version of the 'Ring taxi!! Having a bit of a laugh, with paying passengers in the back..

Its great that you see anything and everything on the Ring.
I saw a coach full of sightseer's last time and a couple of people carriers with the whole family and grandparents enjoying the ride! |
