Did it once from a dead end side road in the centre of Hull coming out of a car park, genuine error as I didn't realise there were lights there. I treated it as a T junction stopped, looked & puuled out.
Unfortunately there was a patrol car on the road I merged into & I got pulled As we were discussing it in the back of his car & the other little piggy was checking my details they got a call to another incident &, as he hadn't started writing the ticket out, he told me to do one & they raced off so I got away with it Serves him right for being more interested in talking about how the football had gone on than writing the ticket out |

Ever seem that thing where someone sails past a line of cars thinking they're parked when in fact they're waiting at a red light? Everyone stares open mouthed and then thoroughly enjoys the moment of realisation.

I did it tonight on Union Street.
I had just been to the police station to give a statement after an incident at the weekend. I was concentrating going over what I had said in my own mind, I passed the red light before even realising. No cars were moving so it might have been green for pedestrians. Feel bad for doing it and after I did it, I was aware of how little I was concentrating on the road. Hopefully no tickets are on the way. |

3 out of the 6 points on my license are for running a red light. Was in a rush and it turned amber as I approached, no one was around so gunned it, unfortunately got stung by a camera!
Not something I do often might I add!!

Funnily enough I did the other day going under the underpass towards Waterloo, coming up from Elephant & Castle way, the set of lights under the pass where the taxis tend to come out of, just completely missed the lights.
Got beep from a cabby but he could I was genuinely sorry and sort of gave me a wave to say 'no problem but wake up a bit!!'. Only other time was at some road works about 12 years ago, sat there for around 8 minutes, it was 3am and I guessed they were faulty, so went through, they were only 30 metres long at most. Typically a police car was sitting in a side road and I got 3 points. |

Bad luck gizze.
Reds don't count at night do they? (3-5am) If i'm out early for work, red means 'give way', stick your nose out to check and off you go, especially left turns. Why can't we have the French 'flashing red' at night, which means 'take care, give way', or the flashing amber which means 'take care, you have right of way' too sensible these Frenchies. |

I see what your saying DB and totally agree in some places. Just be careful as more and more lights either have permanent cameras, or are covered by roving CCTV cams
