Dealer scracthed my car

I dropped my car off at the dealership and when i picked it up i noticed a small black mark on my rear bumper. at the time i thought that it was simply just dirt. when i got home and i was removing stuff from my trunk, i went to wipe the "dirt", when i noticed that the dealer actually scratched my car.

my question is, will the dealer fix it or will the claim that i might have got the scratch somewhere else because i drove off their lot?

How bad of a scratch? if not that bad then, not a huge deal.

If you didn't tell them about before you left. They will assume that you got the scratch after you left the dealership. It also depends on how nice your dealership will treat you. Most likely, you're SOL.

Not being rude or mean, just my $.02.

GL, I hope that they take care of it though.

first off be nce to them, try to resolve it in a nice manner.... and if that doesnt work, then you can always go with, "you scratched my car, now i'm gonna dent your head!"

Lesson learned.
ALWAYS go over your car with a fine tooth comb BEFORE you leave the lot or service center.

They will simply deny it and you have no recourse at this point.

Another reason I NEVER valet park my car either.
They could dent your car and by the time you get home, your S.O.L.

Whenever I take my car in for service I basically completely detail it BEFORE I drop it off. This way they see it's in MINT condition when I drop it off and that I'm anal about my car's condition. I also take 4 pictures of my car (one from each side) in the parking lot of the service center, before I drop it off too.
Upon return if they scratch it, dirtied it and didn't clean it, or did any damage, I have pictures to show them what it looked like when I dropped it off.

A bit of extra work, but now you see why I do it.

Good luck.

This happened to a clients car this week unfortunately. He came back in the next day. Needless to say we're paying for it in full.

There's no excuse for your Center not to cover it if they want to keep a good reputation.

Happened to me. In my case the car was a few days old, in the shop to get an alarm installed. I happended to do a walk around and saw a scratch in the bumper, maybe from one of their tool carts bumping into it.
I pointed it out right away. They kept the car and repaired for free.

Same happened to me. I told the dealer immediately and they were good about it and fixed the dent without a hassle. My advice is report it to the dealer immediately. Your credibility decreases the longer you wait to tell them about it.

Good dealerships as part of customer service return your car washed. You would have seen it then.

Dealerships want and need to be held accountable. The Service Manager needs to know asap!

As much as they try to get everybody accomodated, in the processing, speed and carelessness can have a negative impact. as much as they say they try, Service Personnel are humans like us and make mistakes. Especially when they're plates are full.

Backing up a bit...before that, your Service Rep should have done a walk around with you. If they didn't, let this be your lesson and get one done next time.

And before you drive off the lot next time, you should do a walk around before leaving.

Dont think there is a chance for you to get the dealer repair it for you. You should notice them right the way when you saw it. Otherwise, they usually dont cover it. Dealer will try as hard as they can to get away with. All they care is money. GL!

You're obviously going to the wrong dealership. As myself and others have said a Center that wants to earn your continued business will fix this with no hassle.

You should have looked more closely before driving home. If you notice anything visual, you should check very closely before leaving.

That gave me a headache trying to read that. Try a new Center if you aren't happy with yours, there are 3 in your area.
