I noticed there seems to be a trend when JBD triggers a limp mode when it is at 100%. I found for me it usually happens when I rapidly accelerate after a sharp right turn, and sometimes when I floor it around 10mph.

Just seeing if anyone else notices when their JBD triggers a limp mode. This also may be a completely useless thread as well lol.

It's normal for the JBD to trigger limp mode and it will happen regardless of whether you make a right or left turn etc. The DME records/tracks fuel pump pressure anomalies and when it has logged enough of them over time it will trigger an SES light and or limp mode, because it made the determination that something is wrong with your HPFP. The error code that is stored is from a low fuel pressure signal which is how the JBD works.

For a very few this does not seem to happen. I can go for several months before it triggers limp mode, but without fail it eventually will.

Keep it at the default 60% for normal use and only raise it for track days, etc, if you want fewer headaches.

No way man! Once you go 100% there's no turning it back!

Simply shut off the car, restart and limp mode is gone. Erase the code before going to the dealer (or you might end up with a new fuel pump) and you're all set.

Tweak it up to 80ish percent and you will be fine.

I'd rather keep it at 100%, lol. I have a way to clear the 0087 code. I was really just wondering if people noticed what you did to actually occur a limp mode. For some reason it always happens after I fill up with diesel and pull out of this one particular gas station.

the only two Instances that I notice the limp mode (running approx 90% on jbd) is starting the car after it's already at operation temp and mashing the gas within the first minute or so, and sometimes mashing the gas and maxing out 1st gear, so I usually modulate the pedal on starts and / or engage 2nd gear early or start in 2nd altogether. there's no reason to even start in 1st hear for a quick launch it's useless unless you are tryin to get a quick jump to 10-15 mph

You'll notice that if you're able to pull codes, the limp mode that comes up is generated from a Rail Pressure Plausibility issue. Some people run into it at 100%, some at less. There are a variety of factors that I've found that can make it more likely, such as higher ambient temps, car being cold and driving aggressively, and elevation (seems higher elevations make it more likely).
