E93 convertible best practices

I'm happy to say I will be getting my 07 e93 in two weeks!

Can you guys give me some pointers best practices of maintaining the car, especially the rooftop?

How do I lubricate the convertible motor? Should I open/close the top often to keep it running or save the motor by using it less?

Any best practices to keep my car new an problem-free would be awesome!

BTW-I'm new to bimmer.

Thanks!

I've had mine a few years now. I don't do anything special to it other than run it through the car wash every week. It's a solid car and doesn't require any special treatment. You'll be happy with it.

Nah, the entire roof is listed as 16k, but you'll never have a situation where the entire thing needs to be replaced. Unless you roll it...

Over it's life you may need to replace the rubber seals at some point - a couple hundred bucks. Maybe the hydraulic motor. Maybe. Im sure the car will be 10 years plus before that's even a thought.

Don't stress over the drop top it's solid. 70k on mine so far no issues.

Occasionally after the car wash I've had water coming in cause of the rubber not pressing properly against the window glass........ but never cause of rain.

Take it back to the dealer as your problem sounds serious.
