Chipped 330d?

Is there anyone who has chipped/remapped his e90 330d?
I just heard from Breyton that they dont have D-box software for 231hp/500Nm engine ready yet.

If I remember correctly Paul330d had his 330d remapped. Do a search in under the hood section.

Yes, I had mine done in Belgium on the recommendation of a guy in Finland funnily enough. He drove all the way down so they could do his 535d. I can't recall the exact figures, but power was huge. Something like 360hp & 700Nm!

I tried adding a www.tuningbox.com first, but it was terrible and I returned it immediately. Custom remapping is the way to go, IMHO

Hartge will do it for you - 272hp and 600Nm.

There is a Swedish company too - 263hp and 580 Nm.

I had mine done by DMS: 275hp and around 600Nm. I live in Belgium and one engineer came over to Brussel to do the modification (not only my car, but also an M5 and a LR td5).

The result is great! Huge power with smooth output (very linear). I love it in combination with the automatic. It's definitely worth it.

Rgrds,

Hendrik

Interesting. How much did they charge you for the remap and the travel expenses?

Honestly I was very lucky. When I called DMS if they could do the remapping on a saturday (I was planning to go to the Goodwood festival of Speed), they told me that an engineer was on the airport in Brussels to modify the earlier mentioned M5 and LR td5. I just went directly and even got a discount (because I was an easy extra for them): 700 pounds.

So they didn't charge anything for the travel and I even got the better rate! I think the other guys also didn't pay anything for this trip; it's included in their service if they can do at least 2 cars.

Have you though what happens if your engine or transmission fails because of extra power? BMW refuses the guarantee if there is some modifications in power zone.
Breyton , Hartge and Schnitzer offers their own guarantee if engine errors are cause of extra power they offers. Breytons guarantee is about 300€ + VAT for two years.

Reason why it is difficult to tune is particle filter. It already quite pushed to the limit by BMW so the exhaust pressure and temperature is very high. *When installing a d-box the motor electrical system generates failure notes and sometimes switches the motor to emergency mode as temperatures become ciritical.

I also asked from local tuner and he said that they could remap that engine, but power advance is only like +20hp and +40Nm..
