Yes to enable hifi and cd changer but not sure about dension gateway.

Try the video now, I've changed the settings to public.

DIY is a bit out dated. Overall, using the files I've provided from box.net you should.

install drivers for your cable.
install bmw standard tools (link provided first post)
replace folders created by bmw standard tools with the ones i've provided (link on first page)

test connectivity with INPA. This must work before you can move to NCS expert. It's your testing point. If it's not working.. 90% chance it's your drivers. I say this because i've already updated the folders for you with Daten V49. You shouldn't have to modify anything inside the folders I've provided. The profiles are made, the language is in english..

All you should have to do is setup the drivers, test with INPA then move on to NCS. You can use the video as a reference.

I will try to answer questions but please search first, all the answers are in this thread.

There is ANLASSSPERRE_BLS which translates to "Block Start - Brake Light Switch"

On manual cars this is disabled because you use the clutch. On automatic cars and DCT cars it is set to active.

On an automatic car if you disable it the ignition never fully turns off. So this may have to be removed from the spreadsheet.

However, when setting this to active on a manual car - you must press the brake AND clutch to start the car. This means that there is some other related function on automatic/DCT cars.

I was able to find ANLASSERSPERRE_KPS which I assume is "block start clutch pedal switch" and it is set to active on my 08 M3 6MT. However, setting it to disabled doesn't have any effect - I still have to press the clutch to start the car.

Any ideas?

I'm trying to figure this one out as well. I disabled ANLASSERSPERRE_KPS, but I'm not sure what the procedure is for starting without the clutch... (still works with the clutch depressed)

Anybody experiment with the following on 6MT's?
STARTABBR_KLR aktiv //Abort engine start when releasing clutch pedal (might need to be disabled??)
ZEIT_BREMSE wert_02 //Time brake/clutch must be depressed before engine can start

Thank you for all your effort here, its really been helpful. Wading through all this info and files on e90 post new and old has been a challenge.

I have downloaded your files, installed bmw tools, extracted your data file and then went and replaced all the folders in my C drive from the bmw tool install with the ones you provided in the data file.

My confusion now is that I have multiple INPA loaders, neither of which seem to be in english once I get into the actual analog engine readings ( I seem to recall seeing someone had them all in engish). So my question is: which INPA location do I open; what is the "INPA_installed by BMW TOOLS" folder for, and should it be in english (i.e. I did something wrong). I see that the INPA_Installed by BMW TOOLS has a text file that shows ver.

Tried to register my battery last night and I used toolset 32, found the battery register command and selected "run job once" but I really dont know if I successfully did it. I went in INPA and found the battery info and it showed the battery as an 80AH bat (which it is) and the current charge level of 85.5%. Is there any way for me to tell if I actually registered it?

I had my car (2009 328i) coded to run the angel eyes as DRL's but the guy who did it couldn't figure out how to code them to make them brighter. My headlights are halogens.

The angel eyes seem to always be in "dim" mode. Does anyone know if there is a "daylight" option in coding that will increase their brightness when the headlights aren't on?

Also, I haven't been able to find any posts (and I've looked a ton) about anyone having coding success to increase the voltage to the angel eyes on halogen headlight equipped E90's to make them even brighter.

I'm sure this has been covered in the past and I probably just haven't been lucky enough to find the posts but I'd really appreciate any help form people who've had success with coding their angel eyes.

Do you have Logic 7? If so, then just abandon the idea. I wanted to install an aftermarket in-dash unit but there's no way to replace the OEM one easily because of the fibre-optic MOST bus connectivity. If you have a regular one, though, you can do whatever you want.

If you were to replace the Logic 7 one, you'd lose door chimes and some other sounds.

Your only last option, which is what I went with, is to simply route into the AUX IN of the car. That's how I set up my car PC.

You can buy this, no errors, but small coding is necessary.

Thanks for the heads-up...I do have logic 7, which is great. After watching a few reviews on Youtube, I found that logic 7 is a problem and you end up loosing speakers as well, unless you add additional amps.
