My CA told me; it's part of the logistics so they know what cars are enroute to the dealer for delivery. As of Monday he only knew my car was still in queue at VPC awaiting final inspection. Today, the status changed to released from VPC.

"Your convertible was released to the carrier over night. It may make it
in late today or early tomorrow. I will let you know when it gets here
so that we can schedule a time for delivery."

hey buddy! congratulations! be sure they show you the report of what damages the car had on the courage, and what was fixed, at what cost, etc...

remember, you can sue this as futher negotiating tools (i think)

Update:

"Your convertible just arrived! I can have the full inspection done and
have the vehicle washed, waxed, and detailed by approximately 6:00 pm
this evening. What time would you like to meet to take delivery of your
new car?"

"...The work order that was done at the
VPC was simply an alignment check and check over. They found nothing
wrong with your convertible, therefore no repairs were made.

For peace of mind, my technician will also be checking everything over
once more when he performs the pre-delivery inspection this afternoon. "

Unfortunately, I am tied up tonight and can't get the car! Arghhh! I have to wait until tomorrow!

I just took delivery of my SG e92 today

I have already installed the M6 replicas with 245s & 275s Generals...

Congrats Bronco! I look forward to the pics!

I picked up my Saphire Black/Saddle e93 last night as well! It was dark when I finally got it home, but I will take some pics this weekend and post them. I absolutely love the car!! I traded in my 2006 550i, and even though this car weighs the same and has less HP, it feels much more nimble and "quick". But of course that's what I want to feel too, so that could be it - haha

To sum it up in one word - AWESOME!!

I took delivery of my E92 yesterday. The car looks awesome. It had a clean record from the VPC.

I contracted to purchase a 335xi and was told i may be delayed as it was on the ship BEHIND the Courage. I had delivery scheduled for Tuesday and insurance cards sent to me. On Monday I received a call from the dealer who said it would not be delivered Tuesday but probably Saturday. At that time I asked 'are you sure it was on the boat behind the Courage?' and was told 'yes'. I changed the insurance effective date to Saturday.

Friday I received a call from the dealer telling me to change the effective date on the insurance as it would not be delivered Saturday and they couldn't promise exactly when it would be delivered. Again I asked 'are you sure it was on the boat behind the Courage?' and again I was told 'yes'.

Something didn't smell right so I went to the WWL shipping site and entered the VIN and found out the car WAS on the Courage. I called the dealer and was furious. They said their system doesn't tell exactly which ship the car is on but they would call the port again and find out the status. They called back and told me the car had a one inch scratch on the bumper and according to BMW policy the whole bumper had to be replaced.

I explained that, having been lied to in the first instance, I was not sure how to believe them about the extent of the damage. They reiterated that it was a one inch scratch.

So, here is the question. It is hard to find the exactly equipped car anywhere near me in another dealer's inventory. One other dealer has it minus the iPod integration (which I really did want). The first dealer asked me to give them to monday to see if they could get me a delivery date. So, should I believe them about the extent of the damage? Is there any documentation? Is there a way to verify what the dealer is telling me? Would you accept this vehicle? What to do, what to do , what to do?
