Thumbs down On/Off navigation screen

Last night is the first time i used this feature and it is pretty useless. What's the point of being able to turn off the screen when it still remain lit up and all it does it turn off the graphics. I was hoping that turning off the navigation screen would be like turning off a radio and it's a complete black out but you can still see light being emited from it, which defeats the purpose.

You could always cut a black piece of cardboard paper to fit exactly to give you a blacked out affect, you wouldn't really see the cardboard at night. Or something to that affect. Just a thought?

Yup, tired it once, never used it again.
Just keep it on the entertainment screen.
