AUX port / Streaming music

Wanted to know if anyone else had experienced the same or similar issue.

CIC - Goal is to try and connect Android S6 via AUX to stream Spotify.

In my center compartment, I have a USB and AUX input. In theory, one would assume if I plug a AUX cable from my Phone into the AUX slot > go to Multimedia > select AUX. It should play whatever is playing on my phone, correct? however it is not working.

Checked, volume on both Phone and AUX volume menu is set to high.

I've also tried to connect Tune2air via bluetooth on the weekend, it found the source, connected and paired but unable to play my music playlist?
I've also tired to connect the Y cable and an iPod still nothing....!!!

Any suggestions, would be appreciated.

Hey Tony!

It may be related to the android connectivity issues that bmw has (maybe).

Can try with my iPhone to isolate this tonight ?

I got one of those AUX Bluetooth Receiver off eBay for $4 and works wonders for streaming Spotify via bt. So much easier compared to plugin into the Y cable, I'm using an iPhone.

I used an aux radio transmitter I got off ebay when my ulf module was out, sound quality wasn't great and it always had an annoying background sound.

Was it one of those FM radio transmitters where you plugged into the phone & had to select radio on the car's FM channel? Might be different to this bluetooth receiver which kinda just acts as the headphone to aux in.

For a few dollars you can always bin it if it's crap, I found the quality the same as using a cable.

Have you tried with other audio sources to eliminate the possibility that it's the aux in that is faulty? Or if you have a faulty cable? Laptop, ipod, tablet, old phone?
