Did you by any chance read the first post of this thread?

It is directed to Logic7 cars, both E92 and E90.

Non Logic7 have treble and bass adjustment only. Adjust it to your liking.

Honestly, non L7 cars aren't going to benefit from a miraculous setting as I would personally upgrade the system with a nice aftermarket unit. It's much easier in non L7 cars to do.

I'm someone can help me with this, but I'm having a hard time trying to figure out where the "aux-in position" adjustment is located.

I have a 12/2010 build E93 with iDrive and HK L7 audio. I don't really like "bright" sounding systems and prefer bass tones but not overly bassy.

So far these setting work OK for me but I do notice it's still a little bright for my taste with the top up. Top down, I'm good for most music.

100hz -1
200hz 0
500hz -1
1khz 0
2khz 0
5khz +1
10khz +2

TREB -1
BASS 0
BALANCE 0
FADER 0
S-VOL: Maximum setting
LOGIC7 Surround: ON

I tried the other settings but preferred these based on my sound preferences. See what you think.

P.S. I also like my music LOUD. I don't talk in my car much when the music is on and that's good because it's hard to do.

i drive a 2007 335i w Logic7. my main job is a music mixer / sound engineer, so i'm very particular w the way i hear music.

personally i dig the EQ settings with 1 notch up for all bands (except maybe 200 or 500, depending on the song). no Treble or Bass, no Logic7 "concert" or "theatre", and Fade up 2 notches (front).

this setting gave me the clearest, most even frequency distribution without compromising enjoyable listening. speakers don't distort (which heavy additive EQ did). sound stage is focused towards middle-front of car, not one-sided due to being out of phase.. which Logic7 settings did.

i'm in front of near-field studio monitor speakers day-in day-out, and tweak sounds for records and TV production. car stereo is what i use for my "everyday reference", so my studio work will translate in the real world. having a neutral but good sounding system guarantees me that it'll work anywhere - soft, loud, window up/down, etc etc

take it w a grain of salt, but the above works for me. give it a try.

Great, thanks for your help. I will definitely consider upgrading my sound system. Could you give me some introductory advice? Would I have to change the head unit and the speakers or just speakers, etc. Thanks again.

The settings posted are not intended for your audio system, it is intended for the L7 audio before they started calling it the HK system.

I need someone to contact me with an HK system so I can compile some settings for that system too so I can update this thread.

I've got a 2011 e92, so I would be using the "2009 + e92 idrive settings"? Also, how do I select the Logic 7 to concert hall, all I can do is check the Logic 7 on or off !

Tried the settings for my e90 06 325i logic 7 the settings were pretty decent however my bass wasnt the greatest with these settings I am not sure if my subs are no longer fucntioning properly all in all though the stereo is great for a stock system. The system truly sounds great for house/electro music

I have been using the following settings in my 2007 335i L7 Non Idrive for the past few months. I have also added a trunk sub to the mix with the LPF @ 75hz

80hz 0
200hz +2
500hz +2
1khz +3
2khz -2
5khz -1
10khz +4

BASS +4
TREB +1
FADER +2
S-VOL 1
Aux-In Level 3 (center position)
LOGIC7 = MUSIC

I will say the sound in the car is phenominal. The highs and mids are so crisp, the lows rumble the entire interior with clean tight bass (single JL Audio 12w3v3-2, 500w RMS in sealed box). The bass boost feature on the amp is turned off, I messed around with it but once you crank that up it starts to cause everything in the interior to rattle and doesn't sound too clean. I have been on a dubstep kick for a few months and feel that this music really tests the entire frequency range.

Recently, with some new songs that have extreme highs, the driver side door mid speaker is rattling. I think I narrowed it down to the speaker grill/door card causing this noise. Anyone experience this in their cars? What would be the fix for this- its clearly not EQ settings since when I apply pressure it goes away. Dynamatting a stock system is a little silly as I would imagine BMW engineers would build it form the factory to handle any frequency comming out of that speaker.

I don't see the option to change the Logic7 to Concert Hall or any other option in my 2011 335I Xdrive with the Harman Kardon surround sound package.

For those who have the IPOD adapter as well.. make sure the IPOD internal EQ is turned off! (This applies to ALL CARS!)

Now as far as LOGIC7 modes... Whether you have I-Drive or not... its a matter of PREFERENCE. The settings posted above, I recommend using LOGIC7 in the MUSIC mode for NON I-Drive vehicles. Why did I say leave it off before, and now I am saying its good to turn on? Well here is the reason: With the FADER set to 0 or biased toward the rear like how some others recommended, you will get that dreaded rear fading issue, where it sounds like the rear's are cutting in and out. First thing is first, sound staging should NEVER be toward the rear of the car. It only crowds the sound and makes certain notes and instruments play very peaky and annoyingly. Listen to some new age classical such as Yanni playing the piano, and you will see exactly what I am trying to say.

If you decide to not use LOGIC7, there is nothing wrong with that. It's merely a matter of preference. Through time and experience with this audio system, I have learned that once dialed in well, the LOGIC7 surround processor actually helps to widen the sound field as if you are in a larger car. This is a very ideal quality! Yes, I do feel that BMW could have done a better job with its LOGIC7 setup (Mercedes does a much better job at it), but this sounds good for what it is.

Again, I hope this helps you guys! Good luck and hopefully enjoy!

I tried these settings, but the bass is ridiculously loud. Any recommendations if I upgraded the stock 8" to the SWS's?

I don't either!

I wonder if we just get one setting in L7 on the 11's?

Or, are we just noobs and it's staring us in the face?

Anyone know for sure?

Thanks

How loud does this system go before you start risking popping things?

I find it to be quite good (using the settings on the first page) but better when turned up. I am just scared of things breaking..
