Wheel Scrape - Can it be repaired?
I try so hard not to so much as brush my tires against curbs much less actually hit one. But today, while over in a city I'm unfamiliar with, I swung in to parallel park and I freaking smacked the damn curb with my right front tire so hard it made a loud "thump." I was thinking, "Holy sh*t! Boy did I misjudge that one. How the heck did I blow that?" Judging from the sound, I expected major damage to the wheel as well as wheel alignment and balancing issues. But much to my amazement the "bark" was worse than the "bite." I drove home about 30 miles on the freeway as well as surface streets and I could feel no shakes, shimmies or any wheel pull at all, so it appears that I've dodged a bullet there. Whew!
Anyway, I've seen somewhere on this site photos of someone doing repair to scraped wheels, but it's not something I want to attempt, I'd like to locate a professional shop where this could be done for me. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I'm in Orange County, CA. |

Call up the dealership you got it from, a lot of times they have a wheel repair guy in house that can fix it for you.

I have a little scrape on one of my wheels as well from getting too close to the curb. No thud though, just a scrape. I too didn't judge the distance and wondered why I did that. It happens to the very best of us, just like you and I!!!
