Can I watch video from my hard drive?
If I have CIC navi and coded to watch DVD movies while driving, will I be able to store movie files into the CIC hard drive using the USB port? Thanks.

You only have about 13GB available on the disk for storing MP3 files. Even if it could work, that wouldn't leave much room for movies.

CIC may only play video from DVD disks. You cannot import videos into CIC, the same way you can import music from the USB stick.
If you have Connected Drive option (6NR + 6NF), you will also be able to play videos from your iPhone/iPod. Kate. |

Ie. from different apps like Youtube? Or other videos apps to play other formats like RMVB for example? or does it have to be video that are stored on the video folder itself on the phone?

6NR+6NF allows one to play video from iPhone/iPod that are stored on the device - this is an OEM functionality. We heard that some people managed to play videos from youtube - but this is not an OEM feature and we can't know if it will work for you or on.

NBT is the newer idrive hardware (in the F series models), first it was ccc, then cic, then NBT. NBT will let you load video files on the hard drive or on a usb stick just like MP3's and play them on the screen in the car.

Ooh wow - awesome.
I assume that's not compatible anymore with the E9x series anymore?

NBT comes on the new X3 as of 4/1/2013
Kate can probably give you more details, but bimmerretrofit has been working on an NBT retrofit for the E9x, not sure if they have figured it out yet or not, but will be bit bucks as the hardware is so new! http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=770381 Rob
