I think I will need more hp or less weight for 11's.

My opinion.

ohhh...maybe yes if:

I put 4 slicks, 6000rpm...drop clutch...maybe 11's with very very good 60ft...after go to dealer for replace all the drivetrain To many chance to broke the car If I do that.

not realy dump the clutch...but not slip the clutch for sure. Just release very quick and smash gas pedal .

Dump clutch at 6000rpm...is for fun..If I do that...I think I will go directly to the dealer for repair...

I just spent the week in Montreal. What a great place. But I swear, I hardly saw anything but M3s, maybe because I was around McGill.

I think you might go faster with light wheels -- that might put less strain on the drivetrain as well.

Way to show how good driving with a MT can be fast.

In that area is where you will find quite a few yes!

Actually our local Montreal area members on E90 post, the M3 owners will probably outnumber the 3 series guys shortly!!!!

Way to represent us xi'ers! It's nice to see that our ride can stand up to that. But to up the WTF effect you need to work on your reaction time. Basically, drop the hammer on the second last light. Your plus you car's reaction time equal at least .5sec, the same time between each stage of lights.

Are you drinking? Your posts are usually a tad more clear than this. That last sentence is classic.

My reaction time is not important for me...concentration for perfect launch for break the record. That all. Not for win the race...beat my time.

Anyway if you see the run #4,#5,#6..against the Lexus IF-S...is very funny to pass the Lexus guy after 100ft... he check me like that and I say bye bye.

I have never been to Canada, but going to Lake Louise later this year. I'm really interested in seeing how different things are up there from So Cal.

the reaction time has no influence at the drag strip. The time doesn't start when the light turns green, it starts as soon as the car passes the start line.

I'm sure he was stunned. That's the same look some of our M3 owners are probably giving when they get reamed by tuned 335's...they probably can't sleep that night

I've already snooped around on tischer and priced out some driveline parts for this year, just in case. Perhaps paranoia setting in but the 335XI trans is $3500. At least it's cheaper than the engine...

Axles were only $300, T-case $1800. Not cheap but less than I thought they might be.

Hopefully all we'll be breaking is records. :/

Awesome times for sure. Way to represent!

We need AMS to get a hold of their XI already and start looking at making stronger drivetrain parts.

Well I suppose it doesn't matter if your sole aim is to collect a time slip to post on dragtimes. It makes a pretty huge difference if you want to collect a win as well. For me, getting a good reaction time is part of the fun.

It has ZF 26AT, when we have ZF 21AT, big difference man. Ours are rated 360ish tq max. No one knows how much headroom ZF put in there, so as far as BMW goes, you are way over limit in the 400s and sooner or later you will pay the piper you are not careful. I am sure you will be just fine as long as you don't abuse it, such as tq braking when you have those huge numbers.

Other components in the cars such as drive shafts are different too. Ours a much weaker. Need proof other than what BMW says? Couple of People on here have snapped driveshafts torque braking 335 gassoline version cars that are not really much over 400. Be careful the car was not meant to handle that much. So don't tell people they are ok so confidently. Hopefully no one gets misled to believe they are safe territory pushing the cars that much. The 335d is a tq monster but its meant to handle a lot more than our cars too.
Yah according to my internet searching, the 6AT 335i does have the ZF 6HP21.

But it really makes no sense that the 6HP21 is rated up to 332 ft-lbs, when the BMW Performance tune alone bumps the torque to exactly that same 332 ft-lbs. Why would BMW put a transmission rated for 332 ft-lbs in a car that makes exactly 332 ft-lbs. I mean, even Hyundai has the ZF 6HP26 which is rated up to 450 ft-lbs in the V6 Genesis Coupe which makes 260 ft-lbs..
