Spacers making "flapping" sound?
hey guys recently i got a pair for 15mm H&R spacers for my rears (iforged). but when i go past like 25 mph. there's this "flapping noise" with the the metal or something
yes i used extended bolts. the guy i bought from has a e92 M3 and had no problem with it with his OEM wheels.. did i do something wrong? |

i made sure all bolts are tight. wheels are all the way in.
well i put the spacer on my rim it doesn't seem like it's a tight fit like the rim with the OEM hubring. it seems wabbly. so would that be the problem? |

Once the spacers are removed, double check the length of the chamfer on the spacer and the depth of the chamfer on the hub ring. The hub rings are most likely not deep enough to accommodate the length of the spacers lip. -Charles@VMRWheels

Glad you got that figured out. Same thing happened to this guy on E46fanatics...
http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=688102 Can you share the specs of the new shorter lugs you bought? I'm wondering if you could have just shaved down a few mm off the original lugs? |

I'm glad i did some research before installing my Ichiban wheel adapters b/c it seems this is a common problem among E9X using spacers.

Some days after shorter lugs were delivered by the seller and the problem was solved with no permanent damage. I suggest you to check all the brakes, it is likely that some damages occurred! |

Same thing happened to me when installing 5mm spacers with longer wheel bolts. Theres very little 'play' for wheel bolts on our cars. The springs for the e-brake assembly sit right behind the holes for the wheel lugs.
