I think that was the insurance my dealer offered me but I didn't get. That really sucks, call your dealer and have them work it out. They got the kickback for the plan anyway.

All paragon had to do was up the price! I would surely pay 200 bucks for that coverage.

is there really no other alternative for tire insurance?

i would gladly pay even $300 per year for this coverage since just one replacement tire would be over that amount.

has anyone else found a comparable coverage?

Those 3rd party insurance options through the dealers are usually limited to OEM wheels & tires which make them useless to me but they may work for others.

Paragon replaced my 2 bent winter wheels with no questions. And they still seem to be processing my latest RFT bubble claim so I'm crossing my fingers it'll go through. Beyond that, it'll be a problem....

Got my $370 check today At least they're still processing claims (maybe they're required to).

Paragon is out, who is in?

I just called Paragon to renew my membership which expires in September. They informed me that they will no longer be covering BMW or the other cars mentioned above and I will receive an e-mail within the next day or two stating this. I am in Illinois, maybe they have different underwriters in different states that lead to different termination dates. They also said they will refund me with the unused term on my 1 year contract.

I successfully processed several claims with them for RFT for both winter and summer tires.

Are there any other options out there?

I called the dealerships last year when I signed up for Paragon, and non of them would offer the tire and wheel insurance to me if I didn't buy it when I bought the car.

Suggestions would be great.

5 dollars :
http://www.amazon.com/TIRE-REPAIR-TR.../dp/B0018QMIW8

20 dollars :
http://www.nashbar.com/bikes/Product...a-000423bb4e95

I've patched my front right tire once (this weekend).
Had these tools in my trunk.

It took all of 10 minutes from start to finish.

Two minutes of work :
1) thread the plug through the tool
2) put glue on it
3) push it into the hole
4) twist
5) pull out

Eight minutes of watching the compressor pump the tyre back up to 32 psi, and packing stuff back up into the trunk.

And I didn't even have to wait for a tow or anything.
Can't beat that kind of coverage.

Dealer pricing

I checked with my dealer after unsuccessful googlesearches and they quoted me $883 for a 3 year plan with $5k max coverage on OE wheels. This seems steep to me. Any input?
