Hi guys.
I am going to do my own oil change and filter change. What should I run for my 335i, and where is the best place to buy it from? Thanks lads Josh |

I think you need 6.5 litres. I bought my last lot of Castrol Edge from EuroCarParts - £28.49 for 4 litres with free delivery (delivered in 2 days)

Sorry to hijack, but if supplying your own for BMW to use for an oil service - what should we be giving them (or rather, what do they use?)?
Castrol Edge 5W-30? |

http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-686-bmw-longlife-04.aspx - I used Fuchs Titan GT1 Pro C-3 last time. There's a similar oil called Titan GT1 Pro Flex, but apparently the main difference is that C-3 uses fully synthetic base stocks whereas Flex uses refined mineral oil (see here), so I think C-3 is a better bet.

I'd be tempted to buy an OEM filter, ask them to use it and offer them their filter back (to do what they want with) in exchange for watching the work. |

Is that castors edge stuff ok to beat on your car with? Otherwise the Fuchs stuff looks pretty good to me! |

Have a look at this
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=406804 I've used these guys 4 or 5 times now. I have always for some reason been quoted a cheaper price when I call in and ask for a quote (£45 last time - June 2012). Car has now done 137k miles (131k with me at the wheel) and seems to be going strong. I have never bothered providing OEM filter as Unipart has to be good enough. National do use Castrol Edge LL04 Oil as prescribed by BMW
