Tires
I have a question that might be very stupid but, does it really matter what tires I get for my 335i (sport package)? My dad keeps arguing with me that I HAVE to have Bridgestone Runflats. But i want to change it to Hankook V12. Can I do that?

Bridgestone runflats are wearing on the sides a lot.. I would go for any other then runflats, and get a pump and/or some foam in the trunk.. Cheaper too..
Runflats are also a much harder ride.. |

As a general rule you should not deviate from tire size, or speed rating, but you don't have to remain with the same manufacturer. I had great success with Michelins PS2 RFT's on my E90 330.

Who is paying for the tires? That person gets to decide.

To answer your question, of course you can do that. Just an easy way to choose is safety and convenience, if you get a flat tire on run-flats you just go to the closest gas station and get it fixed and your rims stay intact. On your V12's youll stay parked waiting for assistance (whether bmw or not) and depending on where you are it could be unsafe stranded in a flat tire bmw. Just my 2 cents. I have the V12's and love them, had em for 6 months and no flats yet, excellent buy. They are also cheaper, but depending on the situation, think what could cost you more in the end...

Agreed. Plus if your Dad isn't confident in your roadside repair abilities (slime + compressor) he may have a good point in keeping you in runflats.

I will probably get the PS2's in a rft flavor eventually, but I was eyeing a tire/rim package with hankook v12's, 265 and 235 19's, and it was like $950 without shipping. That could easily be a nice package for someone with a lease, take them off when returning the car.
