If you're looking for basically a quality set, you're going to spend between $800-$1k, depending on size. Anything from VMR, Alufelgen, to Varrstoen should fit that bill. You'll get into the higher range when you look into Morr, HRE, BBS, etc so your best bet is the first three, depending on what style you like.

Based on your parameters the answer is factory wheels. Think about, already come with the car and it's been engineered to work with those wheels. Best part is they are already installed!

I got a good deal and bought my 18" VMR VB3s for $550 brand new.
I'm sure you can find a deal like that somewhere if you look really hard.
Like....SUPER duper hard.

There are too many choices and variations to say ONE wheel that's the "best". Also "best" and "reasonable price" are pretty subjective terms. You will get a different answer from everyone.

It's like asking someone 'what's the best shoe that's not too expensive'?

There are thousands of wheels out there. There is no such thing as best. Especially when its something as cosmetic as wheels, different people are going to have different opinions. Buy what you think is good looking.

you got to give us more details on what you want....
price? design? weight? diameter?

If you want quality go with WORK wheels
but there pretty expensive

Other wheel companies such as ccw , ssr, volk , hre, adv 1, etc etc are also Baller wheel companies

I currently have Forgestar wheels on my e90. They are a good wheel, nicelooks, finish, etc. They are in the $1500-2000 range for the wheels. I have also owned Avant Garde on a previous vehicle and I liked them a lot also. Nice wheel at a good price. I think I paid $1000 for them delivered. One thing to remember, are you keeping your existing rubber or putting new rubber on the car. New tires will exponentially make the expense rise. I spent $2500 roughly on my new setup with wheels,
tires, TPMS, mount, Balance, etc. My last car, I kept the existing tires, so my cost was $1000 plus installation. Just set a budget and figure out which wheel styles you like and start using google search or the search on here...Good luck...post pics when you get new wheels!

pretty much the best analogy for these type of "best wheel" questions that pops up all the time.

I have M3 wheels.

18x8.5 Front offset 29, Hankook 235/40/18
18x9.5 Rear offset 23, Hankook 265/35/18

I bought them from a forum member. Search the M3 forum wheels for sales. The 219M wheels were the only 18s available for me. Everything else is 19+

Here is a reference link if you feel like browsing OEM wheels:

http://felgenkatalog.auto-treff.com/

Otherwise, G/L with your search...for the holy grail...

Oh, and here are my winter wheels from Sonic Tuning (http://www.sonictuning.com/):

18x8 Front offset 32, Conti DWS 225/40/18
18x9 Rear offset 30, Conti DWS 255/35/18
