All tuned files needs to have the checksum recalculated to match the ECU. The old fashion way was to manually calculate the checksum, but as the ECU's now are alot more complicated, they are being calculated automatically. The programmers are just finallizing the checksum for the MSV70 ECU which is in the E90's now. It is being tested and should be ready soon, so once it is running well, we are able to release the programs to the public.

I suspect that either they are feeding you BS, or you are just misunderstood. There are several formulas to use to create a checksum, but it isn't rocket science. What is "manually calculate"? Adding the numbers in your head? For the record, when a embedded controller reads in the software on boot, it calculates the checksum of the software, and compares it to an existing checksum somewhere in non-volatile memory. If they don't agree, the controller fails to start. This verifies the software is not corrupted. Now, there very well may be a problem getting bootleg firmware to run because of security "features" in the controller, but to say they are struggling with the checksum seems unlikely. Most compilers generate the CS "automatically", or the code is ran through another program that calculates it. A very basic CS could just add up all the bytes. Other methods are XOR, or CRC, or Adler32.

To be honest I do not tune the files myself as I only do the installation and tech support for UPsolute. The E90 uses a new generation ECU Siemens MSV70, so they might need some time to study the code.

Anyways, Good news for today as they have got the checksum ready for the MSV70 for the E90. If anyone would like to have it done, please email or visit www.upsolute.ca I will be having it done to my own E90 325i probably next week if I have time, but won't have any dyno maybe until after New Years.

Speed limiter can be removed and rev limiter can be raised.

If you guys would like to do a groupbuy, I can have one arranged for 10+ cars.

It's the same programs for US cars. People in the US can ship us the ECU, we still include free next day return shipping for it as well.

Canadian dollar is very strong now so it doesnt makes the guys south of us such a good deal.
$600cdn = roughly $515usd.
With 15% discount now, so you are looking at roughly $435usd with free next day return shipping.

Basically we are the only UPsolute dealer in North America with the equipment to work on the MSV70 ECU's now. Not even UPsolute North America HQ have the equipment to work on the MSV70 yet as we can also work on the MSS65 on the E60 M5's as well.

Or you can ship us the ECU. I will post information on how to remove ECU later. We include free next day return shipping, so your car is down for a short period of time.

Lets say
Monday - Ship us ECU
Tuesday - We get the ECU and tune it and ship back out same business day
Wednesday - You get your ECU back usually before noon.

Sounds great. I just don't want to be the guinea pig.

Get yours and give some reviews. Maybe start a new thread when you do.

Thanks.

Basic physics, hmm...hmm. Laws of thermodynamics didn't say so in "Conservation of Energy".
Where do you get an additional energy source to give you extra horsepowers if it's not from the fuel? Remember that "energy can be converted from one form to another, but it cannot be created or destroyed".
