Fuel pump recall
Need a little help, i own a 2007 335i production date March 2007, and have been reading about the troubles concerning the fuel pumps in this model, i took my car to the dealer to see if they would change the pump, because i have been having trouble with the car at start up and loss of power when driving and i was told that they do not change it unless the recall comes up in their system, is this true? or was i being lied to?!! can someone shed some light on this subject for me, thanks

In many cases, if your car exhibits signs of fuel pump failure, then the dealer replaces the HPFP. Some more reluctantly than others.
It seems that some dealers demand a code, others just need a diagnoses through symptoms. |

you dont need to go into the dealer, just call and give them the last 7 digits of your vin and they input it into the computer and it tells them what todo. I have a 1/07 which does not fall under the recall date, but in the computer it tells them to replace so they did.
otherwise you have to wait for it to fail and throw a code. |
