Forming 335is Club of Southern Cal

Do you like the fact that the IS is produced in less numbers than the M3 and non-IS 3 series sedans and only sold in the North American Market?

I am looking for IS owners who want to meet and greet and drive/conduct/participate in performance car activities in Southern California - from the Inland Empire to San Diego.

Examples of activities would be:

Regular participation in Cars and Coffee in Irvine - so far I am the only IS that I have seen show up here. Always ///Ms but no IS'

Car Care/Detailing workshops (will get sponsors)
Participation in Performance Car events
Performance Driving trips
IS Mod Sessions/workshops

and more. Looking for enthusiastic people who share the IS obsession!

respond here or PM me. I will be setting up an IS club web site for this to help us out. Part of what I do for a living.

(UPDATE - New Logo and window decal has been chosen!)

I'm currently looking at 2011 335is cpo with 9,400 miles. Negotiated price $44,000. The car is in excellent condition. My concern is the reliability. I know it has the N54, which is the one that had hpfp issues. How has your car been, the reliability, and did you buy preowned. I have never bought a preowned car before. Thanks.

I am in Norcal but let me know about the website, The "is" is rare, I have only seen 2. About the only recent production BMW that I have seen less is the 1M.

I think couple guys have said that MOST of the issues with the N54 was rectified before the IS was introduced. Now go buy the car b4 I win the lotto and take that car off your worries. @ 9400 miles you have a car you can drive off the lot and do burn outs (breaking period passed). Lol

OP Good Luck with the gathering.. If you want I can put an "s" on my 328i to make car count. Just kidding. I love car meets. Hope all goes well.

Bought my pre-owned with 30k. Absolutely no problems. 44K with 9k miles is excellent. Your car will still be under warranty as well. Should be . The fuel pump problems should be solved with the IS but you can run it into the dear and have them do an inspection on it. There is a battery cable service bulletin that mine needed but that was it. Car is fantastic. N54 is a beast of an engine. Performance BMW mag says it is the best engine BMW has put out in the last 8 years.

Will do. I secured the 335is.com domain. working on getting it online. I have only seen 3 down this way but I am sure there are more. While it looks like another in the flood of BMWs down here it gets picked out of the line up more and more.

LOL!

While the focus is on the IS any BMW obsessed owner can join...you would be the first 328is owner though!

LOL! Don't hate! Us 335iS owners feel that it is a special car, whether you see it that way or not. Now I don't think it falls under the super rare category, but it is no where near as common as regular 335i coupes and M3's. Also, for not being a M car it sure does look nice for OE Styling.

I am down for all of the above, except cars and coffee is way to early lol!

We already had a few iS meets and mini-meets. Its nice to kick back with fellow iS enthusiasts.

Yeah Cars N Coffee I have to get up at Oh Dark Four Thirty to leave by 5 and get there by 6 just to get a spot on the Bimmer row before the Fords come in and take over because ///Ms don't show up in there in droves like the Porsche 911 owners do...it is a lonely existence for my "is" especially when the people call it an "i" and the ///M owners want to direct you to the spectator parking lot! Ha!

I will mark you down for the IS meet up and let you know as soon as it is organized. PM me your email and I will start a list. All suggestions are welcomed. Maybe we have our first meet up central to everyone near a good parking lot next to a coffee shop somewhere. I will be at cars n coffee this Sat as well.

I personally think the car looks better than the ///M. Though I love the ///M too. The "is" though has lower production numbers than the 335i and the M3 and that makes it "special." Under her M-Tech beauty, the N54 turns her from a Supermodel into a 1980s West German weightlifter on the road!

I went to cars and coffee last month had to park in the garage and wake up at 5:30am to get to the meet at a decent time. Over all it was ok very diverse line up of cars showed up so idk maybe I'll go again. But a lot of us is owners randomly meet in the la area. Maybe you can meet up with us.
