Finally set on Tune
Well, after waiting 2 weeks for my Vishnu Procede it looks like they are having boarder delays and can't get me my tune by the 19th when I get everything installed in my car. Since I'm actively training as a branch manager and it will be near impossible to take any more time off for several months after the 19th, and to arrange for transportation to and from S.E calgary - Crossfields so I can drop my car off at the shop I decided to go with a GIAC.
Tunerworks does lots of GIAC re flashes for 335i's What do you guys think about GIAC Stage 1? I'm concerned it won't have nearly as much power as JB or Vishnu from the numbers I have seen, however I also know it will feel a little nicer as the power band is much smoother and closer to stock. Will I even notice the power difference per if I were to jump in a vishnu car? or is the GIAC my best bet. |

Can you explain?
I can always re order the vishnu and wait to receive it and figure something out. I have not paid for the GIAC as of yet, they also offer COBB however I know nothing about COBB or how that compares to GIAC. I would love to hear your opinion on why cancelling my vishnu order and going with GIAC would be such a f* up |

take your car outta that shop and give Cobb a call.
if you want a cheaper tune that's worlds above GIAC, get a JB4. the JB4 makes massive tq on only 13.5psi. the Cobb is tuned for more boost, but i believe it's a safer and easier tune to deal with. either one of those 2 will be better than GIAC. |

ok ok.
you might want to wait on Vishnu - they are great tunes also. either of these 3 will be better than GIAC. i think i can make more hp/tq RUNNING on the dyno that GI does. they are conservative - very conservative. |

exactly.
Cobb at 16.5psi-17psi will "probably" get you 50hp with just a DCI. just for comparison, my JB4 on 13.5-14psi made 15hp and 35ftlbs LESS than my Cobb did on 16.5-17psi. but the overall numbers were great from JB4 on only 13.5psi and those are real numbers from the dyno on the same exact day with the same exact mods...... |

This is my stock vs COBB dyno. I have catless DPS in both runs. nothing else!
I gained 53 Whp, and 58 wtqs! As for boost check out the datalog, you can see it hits 15.5 PSI once for a very short period but it 's sitting in the 13s PSI for most of the range. At least in my case. Go for it

Hmmm i disagree. I've had both the Procede and Giac and preferred the GIAC.
OP if you do a search there are many comparisons. Cobb vs. GiAC http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...iac+experience Here is my thread... http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...iac+experience I actually had more hp from the giac tune but less tq than the procede. To be fair, mine was a v4 procede, but do some research before you jump at the first tune someone suggests. Also i know giac has a special this month where the tune is discounted and i think you get a free handheld map switcher ($250 value). I think you should really look at cobb since you can load the flash yourself. From what i've read, they don't seem to have the maps as refined or smooth as giac but they will have a lot of good updates coming and seem very promising.

Ha relax man.
The car FEELS much better, yea the dyno shows what it shows but driving the car, the difference/linear power delivery was huge! A stg 1 giac flash is def. more conservative than the procede, but for me that wasn't a bad thing. I went with stg 2 now since I wanted more power. BTW Are all the mutiple posts necessary? I'm not going to start a tuner war here, just adding my .02 just like everyone else.

I just did a few more hours of research now that I had time and was off work. I did find a few GIAC vs JB4 or Procede threads.
Some.... good information, then 10 pages of complete bashing and my tune is better then yours ETC.. Entertaining lol but not all that informative. I'm really warming up to the GIAC, I quite like how it runs very smooth and feels like the stock power band just with more power! I feel that a tune should not just have brute power but should also make your car run and feel like it was built that way from the factory. I also admire how the GIAC is easier on the engine and doesn't push it as hard. This is my daily driver guys, I really do want to keep this car for the next 8 - 12 years * I'm sure I'll pick up a second summer car a few years down the road * I'm also taking a risk as I don't have an Oil cooler * 2007 non sport model * However I can justify it with the fact that 98% of the time I will be driving it easy and respectably, I will only WOT and drive it hard once or twice a week and only 1 or two pulls if that. just looking to get a little more power out of my vehicle. |

I hate to sound like a NOOB, but could someone please point out how to properly read these Dyno charts? I have had difficulty when viewing the dyno chart thread.
Thanks guys. |
