what do you mean by lower it in with the LEDs facing up, the LEDs are all around the end of the light not just on one side, are you saying i should lower the unit into the opening with the tip of the light angled up from the base and then start to angle to tip down so I can push it into the actual housing?

yes exactly. if you lower the whole unit into the housing with the heatsink down and the tip of the light facing upwards. I hope that makes enough sense.

I'm a woman with medium sized hands and I have cuts all over my right hand from installing the H8 v3. Got the passenger side unit in, but couldn't lock the driver's side into place. Fortunately, I found a mechanic with small hands who was able to do it.

It's not the fault of the product, but rather the ridiculously small space BMW designed for these bulbs.

Just got my H8's installed. Drivers side took about 5 minutes start to finish. Couldn't get my hand in to twist it in on the passenger side, I thought they were both the same size??? My wife got it done instantly, she's so damn proud of herself now and wants to know when I want her to install a supercharger for me:-) Yeah, I wish.

How much do shops charge to install these (roughly)? I don't want to install these, as I have chronic issues with my hands already and prefer not to risk any cuts. Anyone ever price getting these installed by a pro?

I emailed AKMoterwerk in NJ maybe...6-8 months ago asking the same question, and I believe their price was in the range $30-$50 for installation. I still need to get my LUX's...but I just dropped my cash on a Canon 55 ƒ1.2 lens, so finances are a little low right now

Late 1960s/early 1970s, it's an FL mount (early FD mount) lens that has been converted to an EF mount lens with focus confirmation. She's a beauty!

Installed LUX today. Technically it's very easy, but in reality it's freaking ridiculously difficult and frustrating!

It was pure dumb luck that I was able to put it in the right place for the driver side. Passenger side has much more room and took me maybe 5min, but the other side took me 55min to get it done after all the cuts and bruises.

But after 1 hour of pain and agony, which I really don't want to repeat ever again, I love the new look and am very happy with LUX! It was definitely worth the trouble!

I respectfully disagree, you don't need much for technical skills, but it isn't easy and if u have girls hands you can do it, sucks if you have big fat sausages for fingers though!
