Turn off seat belt chime? Its there for a reason. Ask Lawdude, I am sure he has something to say about that. Imagine if he did that, you get into an accident then sue saing you would still have your leg if you wore the seat belt, that you didn't because there was no chime to remind you, yet you had come to rely on the damn thing like an automaton to remind you when to put belt on... conviniently forgetting you asked for this ofcourse. Then you call Lawdude and tell him you want that nice Rambo that Shiv got, and his evo-X too, and you are willing to part out the evo-X to Lawdude ofcourse he doesn't work for free yeah? Then he gets to work and in an instant, just like that Shiv is SOL.
We live in a litigous society, so we have to contend with dumb chimes and ugly yellow warning stickers everywhere. You know how this goes. If I were him, I wouldn't do it if you begged. Even the speedlimiter delete is borderline risky proportision. Ask McD about that grandma who burned her thigh with hot cofee she asked for then sued for 3 million and won!

I mentioned this elsewhere, but I am concerned about all this code clearing. It's cool, no doubt, but are we going to enter a period of time where we are clearing the codes everytime we get into or leave the car? If nothing else, it is outstanding that we can clear the hidden history...I think everyone can agree on that.

I think what sn0w is worried about is automatically clearing every time the ECU wakes up. You want to keep some codes not clear all of them, which I think is exactly what you just said it will do, paraphrasing Shiv. I agree with you. Just kill the unwanted codes but leave every other code alone. And I also think I read somewhere and Shiv said that is how it will work. Am I any clearer or did I just Muddle the waters more?

Having the boost display where the current MPG readout is would certainly be a nice tool to see how things are really running without "adding" any hardware to your interior.

Wow just saw the other tread and i don't want to treadjack it.
Has this other person also once his own idea? "not just shiv brainsucker"? Sorry I could'nt resist and don't start with the gaspedal again. We did this with the procede before it became cool with the remote one year ago!

Is the Procede going to be looking for tuner codes every XXX ms and then sending only the clear code for the tuner code only when it detects it?
Will the auto clearing of codes be a user selectable feature? I have a BT and pre 29. and would like it to not be checking / clearing codes every couple seconds. Having it user selectable would be best in my opinion. |

I heard it cures ED. Is your ED that bad that you need to double up on the PROCede dose?

Woow..U guys are harsh. I don't know why some of you guys take things so seriously. No one is saying you also have to agree with everyone else posts. To each his own right. Any BTW i wear my seatbelt 99% of the times and when i don't its because either I am trying to find parking in a cramped parking lot or trying to park in a tight spot. And at those times I can do without the annoying dong. I don't know who likes to be tied down to the seat while parking. Its feels awkward and ends up taking more time. Im sure were all adults here and we do things for a reason. P.S. I know sooo many other BMW drivers that feel the same way but its shiv's product and its cool if he dosent incorporate some features into his product. Im sure it'll be more trouble than its worth for him.

huh ^ ?
I thought this was a performance product. Maybe Shiv can incorporate a Trucker horn sound instead of the regular horn through CANbus?? I would soooo buy that. |

he means that he likes to park (going in reverse i'm assuming) without his seatbelt on that way he can easily lift his back off the seat. makes sense, i do it sometimes too.
but i dont think it warrants having a power-producing tune implement the feature just because it CAN. (pun certainly intended) |

Seat belt dong delete
I have an analog solution to the seatbelt problem. Cut the buckle off of the belt or order an extra one and then leave it permanently intalled in the female end. This will complete the circuit and eliminate the "dong"
Just bought a Rev II w/ CANbus. I can't wait. I also can't wait for the Vista 64 bit version of the software. |
