Just installed my kit! Question is there a kill switch for this thing I had to disable it from inside the ECU box to keep it off because the fail safe would turn on sensing no flow.

Looking good, man! I'm eager to get mine in as well, but my clutch just started going out unexpectedly and delayed my plans by a couple of weeks at least.

On the gauge there is an on off button. If you're not ready to have it flow you can just unplug the gauge and it will be like its not even installed as a failsafe.

I usually leave the gauge turned off (plugged in) and it dumps boost (failsafe kicks in), so its practically a gas saving mode.

Then when I want boost I turn the gauge on and its back to normal.

So the button on the gauge turns it off for you I thought that it was designed for lower boost or something?

The on/off button dumps boost "lowering" boost pressure. So in theory it turns everything off.

Page 15 of the HFS-4 manual shows the buttons.

OP:

How hot does the tank get sitting in the trunk with the heat in Florida?
Plus do you notice any fumes in the cabin?

I would highly suggest this system to anyone running any of the major tunes, even the piggy backs. The failsafe works flawlessly with very little setup.

I am trying to learn how the failsafe works and is wired into the ECU with this system.

Does it basically control the WG duty cycle to bleed boost and how does it wire in?

I have the "upgrade" fan in the meth tank box, it keeps it cool.

it wires into the waste gate valve. As seen on the diagram

^ but the fan only runs when the car is on right? I'm also concerned about when the car is parked out in the sun during the day.

I just installed a trunk tank and it's been in the 90's this week.

After parking the car for a while I popped the trunk and felt the tank for temperature......it was not even warm to the touch. I was surprised.

Also, once you have AC on, the cabin temp will cool things down even more.

Exact opposite when you pop the hood. The hot engine just heatsoaks everything in the engine bay completely while you are parked.

I got the same tank as E90soflo, its a twin tank design with breatherless caps, so it cannot vent the meth fumes in the trunk, so i think it should be ok. Im actually debating on trying to vent the caps to outside of the car though, just to be safe.

I thought you had to have a breather cap. Are you able to run breatherless because your using a larger tank?

You have to add a breather tap and hose and run it to the outside of the car somehow.

Here is the tank with breather hose on top (ignore the red circle):

And here is what looks like a vent curtain located under the rear fender well cover in the trunk behind the rear wheel on each side.

It's a black curtain that moves and lets air from the cabin vent into the rear wheel outside fender area.

I will be adding the breather hose when I finalize everything.

In my case I can just drop down into that area by removing the felt cover on the rear tailight and it's almost a direct drop downwards to the vent curtain.

My tank is located right in that corner where the tailight is.

It's the same area you access to do the golf tee mod.

Where the red arrow points to in post #40.

There is a black curtain that pushes out of the way behind that plastic grill and you just route the vent line to exit there.
