BMW Performance Intake or Exhaust HELP please
Hey everyone,
I am in the process of deciding which performance part to purchase. In the next month or so I will be buying a BMW performance Intake or Exhaust. I am having a hard time convincing myself that the performance intake is worth all that money. Even though Tischer has it for about 800 it still seems like a lot of money just for the intake. Can anyone tell me what is so good about this intake? Is it really going to bump up HP or help my engine significantly in any way? I would appreciate the help. Thank you so much@! |

Go for the Exhaust. You will hear it more and notice it more so than the intake. I had a Injen intake, should be louder than the oem performance, but the sound was minimal and I ended up ditching it. I am going for the Exhaust w/ stock intake.

Go for the Exhaust - no questions. I had the Eisenmann sport on my car for 2 years and scrapped it for the BMW exhaust - great move on my part if I do say so. The sound of the exhaust is music - no drone and fairly muted but very sweet sounding on accelaration. The muted backfire/burbling on deceleration is awesome.
Drop a highflow airfilter in your stock intake and you can hold yourself over until you spring for the cash on the intake.

I'd say eventually, yes. I'll be doing the same thing in a while, probably after summer when I really start making money. And as for the warranty, not positive, but I believe you're good since its a BMW part, although I think you'd have to get them to install it.

Still contemplating it seriously and will probably do it later this year. I would do it now except for the fact that I have new Advan RSs on order as well as a limited slip being built. That plus the new tires for the wheels equals a very expensive couple months ahead of me.

To the OP, like everyone has suggested, get the exhaust if you can't get both. The performance exhaust sounds great and it will give your car a decent boost in performance.
