.8mm = .032" stock. Since the gap increases the more mileage is put on a plug, it's not surprising if your old plugs have another .001 or .002 beyond .032.

I've had my NGK's gapped at .018 and other than I little hicup while idling cold( goes away in like 1 min) car is been good.

One thing I noticed is now get really LOUD pops( Burbles) on decel and downshifting. I will occasionally get the "shotgun pop" with the new plugs. I actually like it
