my app complex SUCKS
so i head out to my 1 week old car today to fedex something, and what do i see?
a pair of mini boldozers ripping up the asphalt right behind my car, after a mini heart attack and close inspection of my rear end, there was no damage, well except for an extremly dusty car (which alone pissed me off) so i go down to the office to figure out WTF is going on, and turns out they are going to repave the entire complex, its going to take a month, of which time the entire place is going to be gravel/loose dirt... so the fact that now im going to have to wash my car EVERY day now if i want to keep it clean isnt that bad, HOWEVER i quickly learned that my complex is full of DOUCHEBAGS as car after car thinks its cool to reverse out of their parking spot and then peel out in the newly unpaven dirt/gravel mix and throw rocks back behind them hitting the car that was next to them so now each time i go out to the car im going to be sweating and praying that some asshole hasnt sprayed my car with rocks i also have to be very carefull about when they repave the road, because as people who live in areas w/ road construction probably know, those little tar heaters throw out smoke/fumes that sticks to your car and will ruin your paint if you wash it off very fast and very thoroughly, and ofcourse ill have to do this for over a week because they are doing the actuall paving in "stages" dammit im going to be so pissed if my paint gets wrecked

i feel ur pain as im anal w my car, but y arent u happy they re takin the time to give u a nice smooth parking lot? if it really bothers u to have to wash ur car often during the work process, ( i love to wash my car, almost theraputic ), than invest the hundred bucks in a car cover. it will cut back on 90 % of the shit........either way gl w the dicks kicking up rocks!!

and a car cover is a good idea, but its a PITA to put it on and off, almost as bad as washing, without the washing

second, you said it will be 1 week. I understand your concern for tar. Here is a way to minimized the tar issue. you should wash your car, apply some quick wax. The wax will server as a thin layer and that will help prevent the fresly tar from sticking to your pain. Get going my friend and start washing and waxing.

I can't imagine putting on and removing a car cover every day/night.

ok, so what are you still doing on e90post? should you be washing and waxing your car as we speak? Trust me, a little wax goes a long way and make your next wash a breeze...
I rather put my nervous energy into wash and wax then sit around and think what might happen. go do it

how long have you had your car? All i know is, this issue you have is temporary. So it is not like you be washing/waxing every week for the rest of the month and for the rest of the year. I know that when I waxed, the next time I wash, all the things that were on the pain surface washed away every easily vs when the car has not been waxed.

here is more food for thought...if you are lucky, your app complex might decide to do some exterior painting. Ooh, I tell ya, when they spray paint the exterior on a windy day, those micro paint particles are all over the atmosphere and many of them will land on people car and they dont discriminate either. If it is a new ap complex, i would not worry. For old app complex, I would want to let them know to notify you when they decided to do exterior remodeling.
