N55 oil temp sensor

Does anyone know where the oil temp sensor is on a e82 n55 car? I found on the m5board of a guy (2006 M5 - so not necessarily apples to apples..._)having issues and for those cars it sounds like it is in the oil pan and shares the same duty as the oil level sensor.

I'm having odd issues with my oil gauge (no hi-jacking on) and want to unplug it and eventually replace it as I troubleshoot.

There are two sensors on the oil cooler housing, I do not believe the top one is for temp, i think it is for pressure but what about the bottom one or potentially they are still in the oil pan with the level sensor?

Any knowledge here would be great! Thanks guys.

Interesting you should ask. I've been having issues with the oil level sensor. It reads as needing a quart, then, ten minutes later, says it's on the high end of properly full. Then nothing for a few commutes, then it will do it again.

I had an oil gasket replaced a few weeks ago. They told me I had a leak and that the gasket needed replacing, which they did under warranty.

I haven't had any oil temp issues that i know of, however.
