search threads from me, many moons ago I posted up a basic boost leak test that is easy and cheap. It works on any boosted car out there.

As long as the couplers, and t bolts are installed correctly, you shouln't have boostleak issues. The n54 will throw a boostleak code if you do.

yes if everything is installed 100% correct you wont have leaks, but how do you know its correct if you dont test it?

I was throwing codes at the track back in 2007 when I was running over 15psi which was very high back then. Couldnt stop the limps. Boost leak test found a very small leak in the cold side charge pipe off the FMIC. Fixed that, all was good. There was no visual evidence of the leak. It was actually at a factory connection point so I had no reason to suspect it.

bottom line.

test it.

Which bolt exactly did you tighten to remove your leak, Im having the same issue with "top end" boost leak. Is it just the lowest bolt on the charge pipe?

for me it was the connection point on the stock cold side charge pipe. Where the plastic charge pipe connects with a flex section.

Tighten every to bolt super tight and make sure the t bolts and couplers match perfect.I did this on my evo with zero leaks.
