I drove from stonybrook to nyc and back during the snow storm and i only had one instance where the car stepped out and that was due to me giving it a bit too much gas to complete a pass.
Im on snows and the rears are VERY low on tread and I was still doing fine.

I have the tires on that came with the car. I was in a snow storm in 2003 with a 91 corolla and drove from out east to the city and didn't slide one bit. I think it is having rear wheel drive vs front wheel drive.
