Maybe, but I have a feeling that the "meth" market is very small.

Is it the general consensus that once reflashes are available to do at home piggybacks will be obsolete? The thought of being able to install a tune using a laptop without getting dirty is very appealing. Considering it is software being sold the prices should be great if many tuners compete for our business. Rather than dealing with just Shiv and Mike there will be many more tuners coming to the table now that were being held out due to lack of compatible hardware.

PS. Not seeking Shiv or Mikes opinion for obvious reasons.

Piggybacks will be diminished for sure. But they can still be used for ancillary functions or even full control. It is difficult to speculate on this as we have not seen the actual ability to home flash and what tuners will charge.

Will I flash, perhaps. But I have no issues with what I put into a piggy as it may still be useful in concert with a flash but I also got to enjoy it for quite some time in the interim.

Woohoo, another update to the software. Some requests incorperated and fixes made. Email from Duram (talk about quick turnaround and great service ):

Hi Steve,

The new build version 1.5.3 is now available with the features you requested, and the bug fix you reported.

You can now reset the actual value display and save the configuration and recall it. It saves the data into XML files.

Here are the complete release notes:
February 27th, 2009
Release 1.5.3 is now available with the following changes:

New features
• Added programming status to the information screen on some conrol modules
• Added airbag to R56 Mini cooper
• Added the ability to delete old communications log from the send logs screen
• Added clear button to actual values so that samples and can be cleared from the screen and the excel log
• Added new function to save actual value settings into a file and recall them.
• To improve performance loging will be turned off by default and should only be turned on to troubleshoot problems
• enthusiast version will no longer prompt to add customer information at startup as it does not apply to enthusiasts. This info can still be added from the tools menu

Bug Fixes

Yea the quick response for development from the BT guys is pretty kick-ass. The Save values features is a big win. We should have a sticky on here with a template files for values to log.

I am as excited about the BT as the next guy, but when it comes to logging data aren't you only seeing what the piggyback wants you to see?

Only with a couple of parameters, boost and fuel pressure. The majority are unchanged and untouched.

Steve:

Any idea where in the menus one goes in order to save the configuration of actual values you want to recall?

Haven't got to play with it yet. But I would guess under the Options Tab but will check later (gotta go install a water heater for a friend).

It is under the Options tab/Other when looking at Actual Values. See the below image.

Thanks Steve....found it!

Seems like you have to hit the export button first, and then the start button to begin the datalog.

The recall parameters are such a great thing.

Gets kind of old scrolling through 600 parameters each time you want to log.

Bingo!!

I had submitted the request to Duram who informed me it was already in the works. Seems logical but was shocked at how quickly it was incorporated.

Awesome! The update I was eagerly waiting for. It was a pain to just select the values I wanted to monitor. Now it makes it easy to recall them. In addition, I am happy to see the clear values function.

The one thing I want to request is to have a marker insert. Eg. If I were to hit my spacebar button during datalogging, I want a column to be exported to excel to have a recorded value of 1 instead of 0. Would be great as I tend to forget where or have a hard time figuring out what each run was which. Also would be beneficial as saving an individual file is a pain while you're driving.
