Need to use it for any future problems i might have like diagnostics, error codes, resetting error codes & Coding.

Nope that's the knock off version that doesn't work.

Someone put together a really good youtube video showing the differences. Here I found it:

In order to work and pair with your cell phone and the Torque app

The key is if you like that style and shape (among all the other ones available). The non-knock off the one that really works looks exactly the same but has no cuts in the housing.

Here is the good one see no notches by the clip:

and here is the bad one with the notch out by clip (personally I would have thought this would be the better one just from looks lol)

There are a whole bunch of the knock-off version on ebay but if you look hard you can find the good one I just bought a few weeks ago

lol... good point.... but it does work....lol

so its a working knockoff version.... that just uses the elm name
