In all honesty I would probably save your money, but if you have to have one ecs tuning has them in stock.

Why do you believe it is a waste... Yeah I saw that, was curious if they were any where else a bit cheaper.

My guess is the gains are minimal if not non-existent.

I had the euro intake with a K&N cone filter.. Doubt it gave my E90 any gains but my butt dyno loved it.

Couldn't tell because I had a BMW perf. exhaust on too and that thing murdered out any other sound. The AFE CAI sounded great and you could hear it over the exhaust too but I got rid of it because all it was doing was sucking up the heat from the engine bay.

Your stock box is good as is.. If anything cut out the charcoal filter from it, throw in a K&N drop in, and call it a day. Don't expect any real HP gains on a NA car from an air intake.

There is zero difference unless you got some super human ears.

If you want sound and gains do the following
get a bmw perf exhaust
a euro charged or aa tune
3 stage intake manifold
that will pretty much put your car at its limit and the sound will be music to your ears.

+1 I have the three stage and had the AA tune until BMW reset my ecu(so I have to get it again) but got damn, it made the car a lot more fun to drive. Really wakes the engine up. Im getting the PE exhaust soon, because the note it produces is like Charlie Wilson singing

I'll have to wait on exhaust till sometime next year, would love to get some more roaring out of it with an intake if I can in the mean time.

Don't waste your money.
Exhaust will run you about $800 or so
Tune will run you around $600-$700 (I HIGHLY recommend you buy the tool that AA and EuroCharged sells, which allows you to tune your own car. Otherwise if you got to the dealer and they flash you ECU you will have to have it retuned again.)
and the manifold is around $500-$600

So you are looking at around $2100 (more or less NOT counting install, which I assume you will do yourself or have someone who knows their shit assist you) to get the great sound and decent performance gains.
So pass on the intake.
Lot's of noise and no gains= Civic with a fart can exhaust; yeah you don't want to be that guy.

If you're not worried about performance gains, and want a nice sound until you pony up the dough for the exhaust, the intake will sound fantastic.

I have an injen intake, on the dyno perhaps there are no gains to be had, but it feels like it revs better, and I just love the sound. I don't race at all, so I'm more than happy to give up a couple of horses to hear that engine.

Got mine used for under $200, small price to pay for a nice tone from the car.

To each their own.

Thanks for the input. Now I just need to find one that doesn't void the warranty on my car.

Your CPO warranty doesn't cover much so I wouldn't worry about it. Any intake you put on that is not BMW made will technically void your warranty IF the dealer wants to be a dick. It take like 15min to swap from what ever you put on to stock anyway.
