I understand that shocks alone won't do it but springs?

Here is a thread of Tolkino car with pictures (Bilsteins/Eibach Pro Kit) http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=295675 The Eibach Pro would give a comfortable ride thats simialr to stock.. I personally I would get the Bilsteins/Eibach combo because I wouldn't adjust the height seasonal.. But getting KW v1 with adjustable height would be a bonus .. |

I want the front a little lower looking then the rear. I think thats more aggressive looking.

I think the Eibach Pro Kit lowers the car 30mm in the front and 25mm in the rear. H&R Sport Springs lowers 33mm in the front and 30.5mm in the rear. The Eibach Pro kit's spring rate is closer to stock which gives a comfortable and smoother ride. I seen some pictures of some member with H&R Sport spring and it looks like the rear is a bit lower than the front, which gives it a uneven look (but thats only my opinion). Also I heard the H&R Sport springs in the rear is bouncy.

the rake will exist no matter wut even if u get 'i' specific springs or 'xi' specific springs..
the only way to eliminate the rake is with coilovers and u raise the rear to match the fronts.. check my pic thread to see the rake with 'i' specific h&r race springs.. |

But wouldn't the Eibach Pro would be a better option to get rid of the rake look or it won't compare to the H&R? |

the only way to eliminate the rake is if a manufacturer decides to produce a spring that actually compensates for it.. say 2.5" drop in the front and 1.8" drop in the rear.. but so far that hasn't happened.. the 'xi' specific springs actually drop the front LESS than the 'i' springs so u still have the stock rake.. |

I think it really depends on what kind of rake matters to each person. Some people want to have zero gap, which is not possible with Eibach Pro kit. When we are talking about the ride quality, and the wheel gap, rather than just springs and shocks(or coilovers), tires are probably more important factor because with the right tires you can get a sporty/comfortable ride. The surface of tire helps you get rid of the gap as well.
To give an example, my Toyo T1R's are skinny tires and they make the gap more noticeable than with Potenza RE050's or my winter tires. While my tires offer a comfortable and quiet ride(thats questionable after some driving), they lack in steering response. As I tried to mention before, this setup is not for everybody. It will not give an aggressive look like coilovers do (which is what some of u guys want), but I think it just makes the car like how it should have came from the factory. |

I need to correct something with my setup btw, I notice that my left rear is sitting lower than my right rear, which makes the front gap bigger when I look at the car from the left side. I think its probably an installation error. I need to get it checked before I can make an accurate comment regarding the look of eibach's

part of that rake in the front can be eliminated by removnig the .25''-.5'' steel plate thats installed in the front on the XI models under the struts top hat...
FYI if a good deal can be had on the bilstein with springs, your total would be ~ $900. $900 is better than $1400. I already have H&R springs, so I'd only need the struts And I was quoted $700 shipped from a vendor on this forum (non group buy price...) |

Ok here is the update..
Supremepower is going do a groupbuy on Eibach, Bilsteins and Koni; this will be a groupbuy for XI & I cars. Unfortunately there won't be a groupbuy for KW v1 coilovers. Currently, Eric is contacting with the manufactors and soon there will be some updates on pricing. |

With a groupbuy and springs it could be a $300-400 price difference from the v1's. Besides the height adjustment, are the v1s worth that much more? And how long do the bilsteins last? The coilovers will last the life of the car. |

I have a set already of them for the e90 XI.
The rear shocks dont fit 100% actually. On the top, they dont fit correctly so there is no 100% way to hold them into the top of the car correctly. I can try to get pics later |
