I'm told it will be about a year away. Should be an awesome machine, but you should be able to get close to it for street performance with the right aftermarket parts on the standard e93 & save some $$.

I might check the main forum to see what others around the world have done to improve the e93 handling.

Yeah, i'm willing to wait however. I'm thinking of buying one in either '09 or '10, if i get impatient i may grab an '06 e46 m3 to hold me over for 12-18months in between, i've got issues with owning 1st year of production cars hence would prefer to get in after 1 year, which would also help to avoid waiting lists, paying too much for it and the teething issues commonly experienced with early production vehicles.
Personally i prefer to not modify my cars (much) due to the impact on insurance premiums and the fact that insurance companies will take any possible loophole in the contract to escape making payment in the event of an accident, which is a situation i'd prefer not to put myself in.
