Battery charger hook up

Anyone figure out a way to run the cables from a trickle charger/maintainer out from the battery and the trunk and be able to close it. I want to run a plug in connection from the battery to the charger when needed and keep everything closed. As of right now it looks like I will need to do my hook ups under the hood and run the wires out from under the hood in front of the windshield. Any other ideas?

Do you not want to just close the trunk on the cable? A battery maintainer doesn't have that thick a cord -- 12GA max I'd think -- which should be plenty safe enough to just close the trunk on.

I am going to try to find some flat cable. Even that doesn't look like it will fit to close the trunk on.

You can hook it up under the hood. Just dont close the hood all the way down.
