Turn on ambient lighting without headlights?

I love the ambient lighting inside the e92 (overhead and door panels). Last night this girl and I decided to start making out like high school kids in the car, and when I turned off the headlights, the ambient lighting goes out. It would be awesome to keep the "mood lighting" on inside! Anyone know how to do this?
