Tire size question

I am running goodear eagle f1s on my 2006 325 sport with 18" 162s - staggered set up: 225/40/18 front & 255/35/18 rear.

the roads in new england suck at best and as a result i have major bubbles on the sidewall of one of my rear tires - not good.

long story short i am replacing all 4 with Kumho Ecsta ASX and I'd like a bit more protection than I have now.

Can I run 255/45ZR18 on the rears and 225/45ZR18 on the front without rubbing or any other bad stuff?

2013 BMW F30  [0.00]
2014 BMW F22  [0.00]
2013 BMW F06  [0.00]
Those sizes are going to be tall and will throw off your speedo as well as cause some rubbing issues during compression or full cabin. I would recommend sticking with the previous setup of 225/40/18 and 255/35/18.

No, for different reasons, among them that diameter difference between front and back is > 1%.

What you can do, however, is change to 255/40R18 and 225/45ZR18. This will not rub and have the desired effect, see here:

Speedo advance error is actually even corrected by that setup. I know, since I have it.
