Where did you buy it from?

What do you think of the AMS, or better to spend up on the Helix?

Currently AMS on sale for $689 plus shipping. (http://www.n54tuning.com)

Bought directly from Helix.. If you ask em nicely they will honor the 'group buy' price.. I ordered the extra J-Pipe and got it shipped via a 3rd party shipping company to get it at that price. If you get it sent directly from Helix to you, add an extra $100.

No idea about the AMS.. To be honest I think any FMIC would be a big improvement and you'd be happy no matter which you went with. You probably wouldn't notice a world of difference going from company 1 to company 2, as long as it's a well known brand (Helix, AMS, ETS, HPF etc..)

I liked Helix because it didn't require cutting of the front bar, and had a large front face. I also thing the quality is top-notch (not to say the others aren't). I will say that the Helix does weigh a fair bit (probably slightly more than others given its size) so if you're looking at weight reduction, it may be something to consider.. Probably not a big deal, but it all adds up!

Thanks guys, for the advice, seems both would be good for what I want to use my car for (street only).

What sort of cost should I budget for installation?

Depends.. I'd probably go to someone that's actually done it before, so you're not paying for their trial and error time.

Should be between 1 - 2 hours?

A few new additions..

Thanks again to Stu @ BMR for the bits!

The Angel eyes are LUX v5.2's. The passenger side looks like it has a lime tinge to it in the photo, but both appear white in person.. Now to just work out how to get them coded!

As for the CP-E's.. Didn't notice a power increase, although the induction and BOV are 10 times louder.. I'm glad it's an AT though as I don't think I could handle the bov almost every gear change..

Great looking car mate! Quick question on your BC coilovers, are you getting much noise coming from them? Or any clunking sounds at all?

Cheers!

The fronts creek a little (sounds like rubber twisting / rubbing) on speed bumps. Not a peep from the rear...

No clunking at all though.. Apart from the creeking (yet to investigate what it is) i'm more than happy with them.

Nope, unless I disconnect the sonar... No biggie, but if I ever want to put it back in, it has to be recalibrated. No one in Canberra does it so they have to 'hire' the tool from Melbourne and I'll be up for around $550 to have it done.

Rims should arrive next week.. 4 months for a set of wheels.. Never again!

Forgestar... I'm not the only one waiting though. BUT won't go into it.. Just google "Forgestar delays" and you'll see plenty of people in the same boat.. My opinion of them will probably change when the wheels finally turn up though. Hopefully..

Looking great - very good choice and love the way those rear arches are filled up! Could you share the dimensions and offsets you are running? And what was your tyre choice?
