Timmayfest : A country wide BMW/Mercedes meet in Columbus, Ohio May 21,22,23, 2010

I, along with help from other members on the M5board, plan on putting together a North American meet May 21, 22, and 23, 2010 in Columbus Ohio. So far we have cars coming from states as far as California, Florida, NY, and even a few guys from Vancouver, Canada....

In honor of 4ngie and 4ngiefest, we have dubbed it "Timmayfest".

My goal is to have a record setting gathering of M5's. (aside form Mfest) But of course, all makes and models of BMW's and Mercedes are invited to attend. The point of this meet is not only to drool over all of the fine automobiles there, but to finally meet the people behind the screen names. I have put together many local events, I just thought it would be fun to have a meet where EVERYONE could attend: USA, Mexico, Canada, even Europe if those guys feel like flying over the pond.

We are raising money to donate to The Make-A-Wish Foundation(tm). All proceeds from stickers, T-shirts, and raffle items will be donated. Additional donations can me be made at this Paypal address: Timmayfest@yahoo.com

Meet will start around 12pm. I have scheduled a DJ for some tunes. We can oogle over cars, chat, and talk shop all day. There will also be a vendor there who is bringing a mobile dyno and will be doing custom dyno tuning on cars starting at 11am. Please contact me privately for more information on the dyno. I have also lined up a mobile detailer for car washes and what not. This saves the out of town guys from searching for a car wash.

A few of us plan on gathering at a "gentleman's club" if anyone is interested in joining us. Please contact me privately for more information. I can also offer suggestions for places to go for those looking for a more relaxing evening.

Sunday 5/23 -
The dyno tuning will continue in the morning at 11am, and throughout the day. For those that are still around, we will be back at the venue to hang out and visit some more, before bidding our traveling friends farewell.

- btmlinedan, a member on the M5board, is an AMAZING photographer. He has offered to take some quick photo shots for people given we can find a nice backdrop close to the venue. I will be getting with Dan to schedule people, or come up with an order to get this done. THANKS DAN!!

- I have some small banner type stickers made "Timmayfest 2010" for anyone who wants them. A small donation to The Make-A-Wish Foundation VIA the Timmayfest PayPal address is the only cost.

- havasusteve03beast is working on getting some T-shirts made, awaiting some prototypes. THANKS STEVE! Please contact me if you are interested in a T-shirt.

- I will personally arrange transport if needed for those who wish to fly into Columbus, CMH, to be sure no one is left out. I am sure getting a ride to/from the event won't be an issue as long as they stay at one of the hotels listed below.

- Caravans are highly recommended. I did this last year when heading to Atlanta for 4ngiefest. The caravan was almost as much fun as the meet.

- Marcus, (m5moving) has invited a few MB AMG's to come to help with the costs of getting the moblie dyno guy there. He wouldn't come unless he had some PAID dyno tunes. Marcus arranged more than enough to have them show up, so it is a plus for us. Again, please contact me if you are interested in getting a dyno tune. I can give you more info offline.

Wow great planning and lots of effort put into this - love to see all the M5s come out.

How many do you envision showing up? The Quaker State parking lot has some room but there are lots of other restaurants nearby that eat up parking space(s).

sounds interesting. i've been wanting to find a relatively close location to do a mini road trip this summer. if enough people are going, i'll check it out. i'm sick of driving to wisconsin.

Right now, there are over (30) E39 M5's coming from the M5board.com. There is a caravan of 4 or 5 coming from CA, a few more from Vancouver, then some more (4 or 5) from NY. I have RSVP's from a few E60 M5's, a lot of E46's, and many others models. There will also be 10-20 MB AMG's also, they are mostly coming for the dyno tuning. Right now, I am GUESSING around 100 cars total.

Isn't Eurocharged the ones that bring the models??? If they are, makes it even more interesting

Not sure if I will go since I will be graduating and taking a GRE exam.. I may be tempted to go to Cabo San Lucas instead

Saturday will be the big day. All of the West Coast guys are leaving Sunday monring, I think the guys from NY are too.

Big news today....

Marcus (m5moving) stopped in to Wheel Medic today, a local wheel repair shop. They said they would bring their mobile workshop and do wheel repairs on site! I am going to push for a raffle item also.....

We are also having discussions with Kelly BMW, a local BMW dealer, who is going to try to bring a few cars to showcase. They mentioned something about the new 5 series or a 1980 M1?? I am having lunch with a group from Kelly on Sunday.

I also spoke with Quaker Steak and Lube today. He said we could put as many cars on the lawn as we wanted. We originally talked about having 10 or so cars up on the lawn, but he told me tonight we can have as many as needed. The large grass area I planned on putting people is NOT owned by QS&L, I miss understood him in our first conversation. I will be having dinner with the PR guy again when I flip back to first shift on my work schedule to firm up parking plans.

We are trying to organize a Saturday morning cruise before the meet starting around 9am. I will post details as we get them.....
