Hey all,

Was looking around the net and haven't found many 2011 RWD E90's around Canada. I wonder if I have something rare???

Would love to know if there are any more Canucks who chose the slidey winter option!

There are a few of us around. Although I find less and less manuals in general. The sign of an aging population I guess. I know BMW produces less manuals now than 10 years ago for sure.

I plan on sticking with the manual option as long as possible.

I think towards the later years of the e90 production the lease rates were very similar between x-drive and rwd that most just opted for for awd.

Only an enthusiast would opt for rwd at this point. Too bad, I tried searching for a rwd model but most seemed to be 2009 or older and even then it wasn't that many. e92 coupes were easier tho.

Overall I'm happy with my x-drive tho. At least you get the benefits of extra traction.

Fair point on the lease. I ordered from BMW AG directly via a diplomatic purchase program, so I had a bit more say in what I could order. In all my research though, the point that sold me was that the RWD 335 has the same subframe, suspension geometry and brakes as the E90 M3. The AWD is built on the 328 subframe.

As a reference only 48 examples of N54/RWD/6MT/M Sport were manufactured in Canadian spec. I'd say we are rare breeds.

Mine has the N55, so I would guess it's a rarer breed still. Where were you able to research this?

There's a thread on unofficial production data on maxbimmer.com

I have an '11 e90 with RWD. It was hard to find but I held out until one came on the market. Sold my xdrive e92 and xdrive was part of the reason for that. Hated the feel of it and rarely needed it in the GTA.

I drove my manual RWD E90 325i around for 8 years before just recently getting rid of it. So some of us are still around! Although I would imagine the sluggish-ness of a 325i compared to a 335i might be an advantage in the snow.

Now I have an auto F30 328xi, which almost feels like the complete opposite of my previous car, but change is sometimes good!

Well, thanks to LangJai's info, I got a great response from SickFinga on MaxBimmer:

Quote:
3 - 2011 BMW 335i Sedan (PM53) - NA painted in Deep Sea Blue Metallic (A76) with Black Dakota Leather (LCSW) interior were built for the Canadian market. 1 automatic, 2 manual.

72 were built for the US market. 10 manual, 62 automatic.

The most rare option in this car is the option S320A - Deleted, model lettering. It was installed on 11 out of 5,633 cars.

Some US market cars were built in South Africa. Stats for those are

29 - 2011 BMW 335i Sedan (PM57) - US painted in Deep Sea Blue Metallic (A76) with Black Dakota Leather (LCSW) interior were built. 1 manual, 28 automatic.

P.S. There are only 75 RWD N55 powered E90 335i in Canada
That makes my car the only one of it's type in the country!
