M5
a guy from work just bought the current M5....56 plate...
he was asking me if the rear lights can be changed to the "new version" ? Are there different versions or facelift model of the M5? and also...anyone know what the 0-60 (in real life) is? |

In reality in perfect conditions with a great driver then a mid 4 can
be achieved. The M5 comes into Its own over 100mph mate. Yea there was a facelift, I am thinking it was in 08 somepoint.

I didn't push it or anything....just easy/ cruising around town....
at every stop light, when i gently press the accelerator, the acceleration was hesitant for a few milli secs... it was quite jerky aswell.... |

If the previous owner hammered it everywhere then the gearbox Is gonna
be suited to that style. Try re-setting the gearbox first.

its probably ok mate. Ive never had the pleasure of a blast in one but if you cast your mind back to the episode of top gear when clarkson took it for a test. I clearly remember when pottering around town it was hesitant much like the e46 m3 with smg 2. Ive driven that and they are brutal when not pressing on. Its not untill you give it gutty that the changes are much quicker! In the words of clarkson the box 'needs to wake up!!!!!!!!!!!'

Hi
my m5 is on the button as soon as i put my foot down, should be savage straight away and imo coming from a e46 m3 with smg2 to the m5 it is no where near as jerky at low speeds. Maybe an idea to have bmw have a look,,,,Is it under warrenty? |
