Thanks for the "side-by-side" reference. I have not had the oppurtunity to a/b them and I was curious how close they really are. That general hue of blue, be it monaco or orient, looks awesome when it's clean! sounds like I woudln't get an argument from you. Seems like I might be sticking to it as well.

I don't know what interior you are thinking about. I have beige which I love, but if I had to do it again I might go for the lemon. I've read that you can special order lemon in the US.

I am such a pig I don't think I can get away with anything but Black. Beige is so classy and the lemon turns my crank, but I would probably ruin it the first five minutes of owning the car. Every car I get better and more careful of how I treat it. Someday I'll get permission from my conscience, but for now I'm stuck with black.
I saw a Blue DB9 the other day with a "lemon"-esque interior....man that thing was perfect! Someday.........

I could look at that car all day.

RE: tint; with the e92 it's imperative to find someone who at least knows about the "dot matrix" issue. Trying to explain it to them is a lost cause. I think with tint aside from the dot matrix the quality of the material is more important than the clear bra. For example, 3M tint seems to be pretty mediocre, whereas Llumar, Solargard, and HO seem to be the clear favs amongst installers and customers alike. In a lot of cases you'll find one place that can do both tint and clear bra, but I think it is worth it to take it to two places if you find particularly good installers of either.

On the films, most installers use 3M, I actually prefer venture shield only because it starts clearer, so if installed correctly it is less visible. Really though 90% of how good it looks comes down to the installer; I think if I had a couple guys really highly recommend a 3M installer and I saw and loved his work I would go with him rather than holding out for a venture shield guy. But all else equal I'd go with venture shield.

Cheers.

Thx for the info. Very helpful.

Hi folks,

Sorry it took me so long to get these pics up but these are from my friend's camera. These were taken at dusk so that's why the blue looks so dark. Also, the saddle brown interior looks a bit lighter in the photos than it does in person.

I think its a really elegant combination!

You Monaco guys are lucky, it's a nice color!
My dealer did have the same bodycoloured E92 with the same wheels and same interior on the car in the showroom. Looks really good.

Would love to, but only after there is a Ferrari in the garage. Still not quite there yet mentally, although I have been looking at the numbers of some Friends rides and a few are actually making money, so eventually I will do it. I had an opportunity to take a ride in a 599 at the Italian embassy in DC and go to the launch party. The interior is bar-none the finest Farrari has done to date. The leather feels like it's an inch thick. The car is stunning in person, and with 600+ bhp you can't go wrong. Silly Fast!

That's the way to do it, but.....ya gotta have the big money first. Cars are a money pit most of the time. I'm trying to be better about how I buy. ED has helped me out a great deal. I travel anyway and rental cars can be expensive. This way I save the money on the purchase and the car rental. Trying to trade every year now with virtually no loss. So far so good. Let me know if the guy clears the $135K on his Aston. Just curios.

Picked up my ride this afternoon after a 3.5/4 month wait. Crappy photo's due to the condition of the camera. It's been through a lot. I'll find another camera and take more later.

Added the short shifter, hand brake and alum pedals due to this forum. Also added the iPod adapter.

Moreover, my SA gave me a great deal on the accessories, a BMW key chain, nice leather pouch for my FOB, NAV CD and, of course, floor mats. What a great professional.
I'll send out a full report later with better pics...after I drive this thing around a bit. Name: 033102beer_1_prv.gif

Very nice, congratulations. You and I have same tastes, except for the wheels, but at least we have a difference between our cars! ;-)
Don't forget to do 1500 miles testing before pushing hard your car...

Will do. Taking it slow until 12000.

As for the tires....I'll have to wait to get the 230s. They look great but these will do for now. Too many other expenses.

Tell me about the activing steering? are you happy with it? I thought was too expensive for what it is.

Very happy thus far. It took a couple of drives to get used to it. The steering is tight and responsive, especially in the parking lot but I tell ya....I love it now.

I'll take it up a few notches on the autobahn tomorrow....all within the 4K rpm range...and give a report later.
