3 series hatchback
was reading a pull out from autocar? today in the dentists all about the 5 series GT and right at the back it said BMW might be doing a 3er in hatchback....was going to pinch the magazine but before I had chance to finish it the nice receptionist called me in to the chair, anyone else know about it?

Saw a new 5er GT yesterday. Its way bigger than the current 5. Looks like the younger sibling of the X6. It also has a massive slab of a front end and grill.

When the F10 model 5 series is launched next year I think it will blend in a little more! My mate spent 2 days last week driving the new X1 and the 5 GT. He says the 5 er is an awesome car, especially in 535i guise

Doesn't show it in these pics but it's several inches taller than the current 5 and only a few lower than the X6. Looked lovely inside the cabin. It was a BMW UK car parked in the Exeter Stealers. Already had swirl marks in the black paint !!
Planning to sit in the new X1 in Dick Loves It this weekend. Hopefully a test drive soon. |

At least the 5 Gt is a step in the right direction .... even thou I have a E92 I'm no fan of the current lines ups styling.
The last E46s where bang on the money IMHO I remember jeezer clarkson describing the panels on the (then) new 5 series as slab sided like a black rhino. its not really grown on me.

a 5 door hatch would be too much like an Insignia or Mondeo and IMO not suited to the 'junior executive'! The E91 isn't your typical estate car and is more like a hatchback anyway so why bother.
I don't get why BMW are trying to create niche Markets to sell their cars in. For example the X6
