Cosmetic Engine Bay Modifications

I've seen a couple carbon fiber pieces out there but not much else. Has anyone on the board done any cosmetic modifications to their engine??? Any pictures of the carbon fiber pieces or any chrome touches??

With the UR CAI, you should be able to fit the BMW Performance Carbon Fiber Strut Bar in the car w/o any mods.

I'm leaning towards a CF engine cover with the GruppeM CF intake, but the intake is $$$$

I'm very interested in a strut tower brace. Where can you find these?

Ive seen a full CF kit for the engine on Ebay. Sells for 900 bucks.

The BMW strut tower brace is only for the 328i. There is no strut tower brace for the 335i.

This is the brace for the 328i:

http://accessories.bmwusa.com/ItemVi...=0&subItemId=1

The part does not fit the 335i.

It will fit the N54 as well after some minor mods (adding a couple spacers). Do a search in the DIY forum and you'll see. The reason that it wouldn't fit is because of the height of the air box. If you get rid of the air box (as in installing the UR CAI), you would have totally eliminated the cause of the problem.

I would rather wait for a proper design for my 335.

It IS the proper design for the N54 as well. As I said earlier, the only problem is with the clearance of the stock airbox. If you're doing an aftermarket CAI, that would eliminate the problem and the strut bar would fit like the OEM way.

Good call! That would be one of the first mods along with some Dinan stuff on my E92
