I agree people are not reading

ska is saying that for those of you that had bought the euro light switch, which comes with 2 of those white pieces, give the ONE piece from your existing American switch to another friend who has an American switch to get 2 pieces total.

look at pic # 3

use a razor blade and cut those clips off

so for those that already bought the german switch (part # 61316932796), they can give away their piece from the old USA switch

Guys, you need two people for this mod to work, and one of you has to get the Euro switch.

Say, Uhaulball and HyperM3 are partners in this project, both of you have the American switch right now. Say, HyperM3 buys the Euro switch to put it in his car, HyperM3 still has his American switch as a spare, TAKE THE WHITE PIECE OFF OF THAT and give it to Uhaulball to use on his American switch to make him have the capability of rear fogs without buying the Euro switch.

Haha... I see that as an acceptable use of rear fogs.

Ok so also the one thing you dont get is a icon on the button to show that its rear fogs. Blank on American, Rear fog symbol on German. GOT IT.

You should still have the dash indicator though, which is probably more important than the button.

Still need a source for that white piece.

Any idea what people would "pay" for that part? Im not looking to profit off this DIY, but I can suggest a few manufacturing methods and draw it up if there was enough interest (perhaps we could simplify the shape to make it cheaper)

I'll buy someone's "white piece" since they probably already have the German switch and won't be needing this piece from the American switch. PM me if you're willing to sell or donate it.

Actually, if someone can come up with an alternative to the white piece, we won't need to get them from BMW.

if anyone wants my old US switch make an offer...preferably local...as I really do not want to ship it (I hate going to the post office and don't really have the time right now). I am willing to sell someone the entire switch as I don't want to take the damn thing apart...I would rather let someone else do it.
My switch only has 4000 miles on it lol

I'm not saying people on this forum would do that, just be aware and use them appropriately (ie in heavy rain and dense fog).
Driving home today in the snowstorm, even though visibility was nearly a quarter mile, the SUV in front of me popped on his rear fog lights. I was tempted to pop on my brights...but I resisted being an a$$-*.

Once someone takes theirs apart, then we can come up with some solution as to what can fit in there. Finding something at Home Depot shouldnt be a problem.
