Would you get rid of your 335i for a Porsche 911?

Maybe a GT2 like this?
http://images.search.yahoo.com/image...4&fr=yfp-t-142

If you would, what year 911 would it have to be? S or non S matter?

Maybe, I'm not really sure. How practical is the GT2 as a daily driver?

ok let me add in it wouldn't be a daily driver. More like a 50/50 like my 335i is now.
Ive put about 6k on in almost 8 months

I looked this week, when determining the increase of value for my Roadster, i.e., how much money would it take to replace it with something interesting.

996 TT's with under 40k miles are readily available for under $50k. You can also get into a 996 GT3 for under $55k. Also in the $45-55k range is a variety of 997 C2 and C2S's.

Not to be rude, but a 335 is a great dual purpose car that is more of a DAILY than a SPORTS car. If you have an everyday car, I would have something much more purpose built. The minute I had a good sedan/DD, I wanted something as toy'ish/fun as possible. The only reason a 911 has not REPLACED my Roadster is that it is great to have one open top car in my stable and makes better sense to add a 911 GT3 as a track/street car when the 997s come down to the $50k range.

If your max budget allows only a $60k Porsche, then why did you post the $180k GT2 as an option?
New, you can't buy any Porsche for $60k, but used you can find some great 997 Generation 911 S'. And yes, I would trade a 335i for a 911.

You can buy a Boxster, Cayman, and a Cayenne for 60k but you have to be careful with the options.

Uhm...I think you might be mistaken..at 60k, you're not going to get any GT variants..at best you'll be looking at some 997.1 C2S..maybe some 996 turbo

The only one for $60k will be an 996 GT3, which would around '04.

you can definitely find a 996 GT3 for the $50-$60 range. 996 Turbos are easy picking at the $40-60k range. 997 Carreras and even C4S are also readily available in that price range. I know because i shopped all of these several months ago.

Exactly as I said above lol.

An example of a GT3 for under $50k

I would do just about anything for a 997 GT2. But a 996 GT3, like above, would be miles and miles more fun than a 335i (on a track), so I would go for it.

There is next to nothing I wouldn't do for a 997.2 GT2 RS. I love that thing. Or a 991 GT3...

Porsches have a lot of special intangibles, but my FBO VTT 335 is MUCH quicker than his 997.5 911s. Actually, it's pretty embarrassing. When the road gets windy it's a different story.

It really depends on where your priorities are. If you wanna split the difference, get an M3 or mod the ovaries out of your 335i.
